Providing support to workers in Soc Son district affected by storms and floods

The Chairman of the City Labor Federation came to grasp the situation of the impact of storms and floods on businesses, life, and jobs of union members and workers of Cau Xay Joint Stock Company and Xuan Hoa Construction Ceramics Joint Stock Company.

A representative of Cau Xay Joint Stock Company said that the company has 149 employees. Due to the impact of storm No. 3, the company was completely flooded, the production line was suspended, and workers were unemployed. The initial damage was estimated at about 900 million VND. Currently, the company has 12 rooms for 12 households of union members and workers who are far from home that were flooded; union members and workers who have no place to stay had to move to the houses of neighboring households.

A representative of Xuan Hoa Construction Ceramics Joint Stock Company said that due to the impact of storm No. 3, the company was completely flooded, the production line was suspended, and workers were unemployed. The initial damage was estimated at about 2 billion VND. The company arranged 15 rooms for 60 union members and workers who were far from their hometowns that were flooded. Currently, union members and workers still have to stay in place, without electricity or water, making life very difficult.

After grasping the situation, Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Confederation Pham Quang Thanh directly talked and inquired about the living conditions of union members and workers; at the same time, shared the damage caused by storm No. 3 to businesses, union members and workers.

Directly handing over the support amount of the Trade Union organization at the rate of 2 million VND/person to 60 union members and employees of Xuan Hoa Construction Ceramics Joint Stock Company and 12 union members and employees of Cau Xay Joint Stock Company, Chairman of the City Labor Federation Pham Quang Thanh encouraged union members and employees to accompany the enterprise to overcome difficulties, soon restore production and stabilize life.

Touched and grateful to receive the affection, care, encouragement and support from the Trade Union, Ms. Ta Thi Kim Lien - a worker at Cau Xay Joint Stock Company said: due to the impact of storm No. 3, her work was suspended, her daily life was disrupted. During the difficult time, she was directly visited, encouraged and supported by the leaders of the Hanoi Labor Federation.

Representatives of the units sent sincere thanks to the leaders of the City Labor Federation and affirmed that they will focus on overcoming the damage and soon restore production to ensure the lives and jobs of workers.
