Delegates from Hanoi included Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation Pham Quang Thanh; leaders of several Party Committees of the Hanoi Party Committee; leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi and leaders of the city's departments, branches and sectors.
Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Labor Federation, Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation Pham Quang Thanh reviewed the glorious tradition of International Women's Day March 8 and emphasized: For Vietnamese women, March 8 is also an occasion to commemorate the Hai Ba Trung uprising - a heroic and rare event in the history of the nation and humanity.
According to the Chairman of the City Labor Federation, promoting the fighting spirit of working women around the world, the spirit of Hai Ba Trung, with nearly 400 thousand female workers (accounting for 57% of the total number of workers), present in all fields of work, from participating in management, to expertise and direct production; continuing the tradition of Vietnamese women nurtured through many generations, female workers in the capital have continuously promoted their role, capacity and creativity in all areas of social life, actively contributing to the overall development of the capital and the country.
The City Labor Federation has organized activities for female workers. In particular, it has given affection, sharing, and support to 1,968 female union members in especially difficult circumstances with a total amount of VND 1,988 billion; summarized the emulation movement "Good at public work, Good at housework", commended collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement; encouraged and motivated female workers to compete for good work, creative work, actively study to improve their qualifications in all aspects, build a "warm, progressive, happy, civilized" family, contributing to enhancing the position of female workers in all fields of politics, economics, culture, and society. In particular, the special Art Program on the evening of March 5 is a meaningful activity in the series of activities on the occasion of International Women's Day, March 8.
"The program is a gratitude of the City Labor Federation for the contributions, responsibilities and dedication of key union officials at all levels; as well as practically taking care of the spiritual life of female union officials and members of the Capital; expressing gratitude and encouraging female union officials and members to excel in work, labor, production and union activities. Through that, it creates motivation for female union officials and members to continue to make better contributions and dedication in the coming time" - Chairman of the City Labor Federation affirmed.
The report of the Women's Union - City Labor Federation on the results of Women's work and the movement of female workers and civil servants (CNVCLĐ) in 2023 shows that in the past, the City's Trade Unions at all levels have well organized activities to care for female workers and civil servants such as: health check-ups, gift giving, allowance giving... on the occasion of March 8, October 20, "Workers' Month", Labor Safety and Hygiene Month. Taking care of children of workers and civil servants, especially those in difficult circumstances, children with disabilities, children infected with dioxin, children with serious illnesses, children who overcome difficulties and study well, are commended by all levels of the Trade Union, given timely gifts, encouraging the spirit of overcoming difficulties to study well and become useful citizens for society.
Emulation movements among female employees have been creatively implemented, linked to professional work, maintained regularly and continuously, and attracted the participation of a large number of female union members.
Notably, on the occasion of International Women's Day, March 8, the Women's Committee advised the Standing Committee of the City Labor Federation to provide support to 1,793 union members in difficult circumstances due to serious illnesses, occupational diseases, work accidents, Agent Orange, etc. with a total amount of VND 1,807 million.
At the conference, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded the Emulation Flag and Certificate of Merit on the topic "Good at public work - Good at home work" in 2023 to 6 groups and 4 individuals; the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor awarded the Emulation Flag and Certificate of Merit on the topic "Good at public work - Good at home work" in 2023 to 10 groups and 4 individuals.
