At the end of 2019, Quang Diem commune was established on the basis of merging Son Diem and Son Quang communes. After the merger, inheriting and promoting the previous achievements in new rural construction, the Party Committee, government and people continued to unite, make efforts and determined to improve the quality of new rural criteria.

The Party Committee of the commune has promoted propaganda, focused on thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing Directives, Resolutions, programs and action plans in a systematic, scientific and focused manner. Actively transforming the structure of crops and livestock, applying scientific and technological advances in production; focusing on developing deer farming, beekeeping for honey, building comprehensive economic models for high income.

Deer farming in Quang Diem commune brings high economic efficiency, contributing significantly to the construction of new rural areas.

Notably, up to now, the whole commune has developed more than 4,500 deer, each year generating an income of about 4.5 billion VND. In addition, models of beekeeping for honey, livestock and poultry raising, and developing hill garden and forest garden economies in the direction of goods have brought about clear economic efficiency, contributing to raising the average income per capita of the commune to 55 million VND/year.

Along with mobilizing resources to build infrastructure, attract investment, and develop trade and services, Quang Diem commune always focuses on developing culture and society; effectively exploiting the value of the Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac church relic; strongly promoting cultural, artistic and sports movements in villages and residential areas.

The sports movement in Quang Diem commune is developing strongly, creating solidarity and cohesion in the community.

Up to now, the whole commune has 11/14 hamlets achieving the new model rural residential area. The commune Party Committee has achieved clean and strong status for many consecutive years, the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved. The relic of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac church has been exploited to its full potential, becoming a meaningful cultural and spiritual tourist destination for visitors from near and far.

Talking to reporters, Chairman of Quang Diem Commune People's Committee Le Truong Son said that the locality focuses on exploiting the advantages of National Highway 8A, promoting the potential and strengths of natural conditions, socio-economic conditions; continuing to promote administrative reform, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of government operations, creating high consensus and unity within the Party Committee and the People, determined to build new rural areas to develop quickly and sustainably.
