Celebrating the 135th anniversary of Thai Binh province's founding

Kinhtedothi - On March 21, at the Provincial Labor Culture House, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Thai Binh province solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 135th anniversary of the province's founding (March 21, 1890 - March 21, 2025) and opened the Provincial Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival on March 21.

Attending the ceremony were: Nguyen Khac Than, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Also attending were veteran revolutionaries, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, localities, units... and people from all walks of life.

135 years ago, on March 21, 1890, the Governor-General of Indochina issued a decree establishing Thai Binh province. Over the past century, under the leadership of the Party, Thai Binh has overcome many difficult periods to become one of the fastest and most sustainable developing provinces in the Red River Delta.

From a purely agricultural province, Thai Binh has become an industrial center with many large-scale projects. In 2024, total investment attraction reached more than 43,000 billion VND, of which FDI capital reached 1.16 billion USD. The whole province has more than 1,000 newly established enterprises, bringing the total number of enterprises to more than 7,600.

In addition, the province's service and trade sectors have also made great strides. In 2024, the production value of the service sector reached more than 37,600 billion VND, an increase of 7.08%. Export turnover reached 2,966 million USD, an increase of 12.2% compared to 2023.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh province affirmed: Thai Binh is proud to be a land rich in cultural, civilized, patriotic and revolutionary traditions. The people of Thai Binh have contributed to preserving and promoting the fine traditional values ​​of their homeland. This land has given birth to and nurtured many famous people and talents, contributing to the glory of the country. Throughout the history of building and defending the country, Thai Binh has always had outstanding heroes and celebrities in many fields.

Besides, Thai Binh is also known as a land of learning and mandarin examinations. During nearly 10 centuries of feudal examinations (1075 - 1919), the locality had more than 120 intellectuals passing the highest exams. The rich historical and cultural relic system, imbued with national identity, is also the pride and precious heritage of the Thai Binh people.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that since the early days of land reclamation, the people of Thai Binh have been resilient and persistent in overcoming natural disasters and enemies, joining hands to build their homeland to develop more and more. During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh visited and worked in Thai Binh five times, which was a great source of encouragement for the people in the province to constantly strive to rise up. After nearly 40 years of renovation, Thai Binh has achieved important achievements in many fields, laying a solid foundation for rapid and sustainable development in the future.

Entering a new era, Thai Binh is determined to renew its thinking, improve its leadership capacity, promote all potentials, strengthen cooperation, and build a province that develops rapidly and sustainably, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Within the framework of the 135th anniversary of the province's founding and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival on March 21, the art program "Aspiration to Reach Out to the Sea" was held with the participation of nearly 150 actors. The program combines traditional and modern art, honoring the cultural, historical values ​​and patriotic and revolutionary traditions of the homeland.

 

On the same morning, the Provincial Party Standing Committee held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Uncle Ho Temple; Uncle Ho Monument with Vietnamese Farmers; Comrade Nguyen Duc Canh at the Nguyen Duc Canh Monument (14/10 Square); Vietnamese Heroic Mother Temple (Hoang Dieu Ward, Thai Binh City) and heroic martyrs at the Provincial Martyrs Temple.

In front of the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, comrade Nguyen Duc Canh, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and heroic martyrs, the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Binh vow to follow the path chosen by the Party and Uncle Ho for the rest of their lives, continue to promote the traditions of their homeland, unite to successfully implement the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels; focus on improving the quality of Party building work and the political system; constantly study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, enter a new era - the era of national growth with all new confidence and motivation; continue to effectively implement patriotic emulation movements, strive to excellently complete all set goals and tasks, and build Thai Binh to become more and more developed.
