Nam Hoa exploits advantages in developing trade and services

In recent years, Nam Hoa commune (Dong Hy) has always focused on encouraging people to exploit potentials and advantages to develop trade and services, contributing to the local socio-economic development and improving people's lives.

Many households in Nam Hoa commune (Dong Hy) open shops along National Highway 17.

Nam Hoa commune has the second largest population in Dong Hy district (with over 12,180 people); there are 6 companies and enterprises operating in the commune, creating jobs for over 4,900 workers. The commune has 5km of National Highway 17 running through it; to the east it borders Trai Cau town (Dong Hy), to the west it borders Huong Thuong and Linh Son communes (Thai Nguyen city)... These are advantages for Nam Hoa to develop trade and services.

To effectively exploit the advantages, Nam Hoa commune has synchronously deployed many solutions, focusing on mobilizing resources from programs and projects to invest in upgrading and building infrastructure, especially the traffic system, to facilitate the trade of goods and develop production and business.

According to the New Rural Development Program alone, from 2018 to now, the commune has mobilized 148 billion VND (of which people contributed over 47 billion VND, donated over 50,000m2 of land and thousands of working days) to build infrastructure. Therefore, in the commune, there are more than 100km of concrete roads invested in repair and construction, bringing the rate of hardened commune and hamlet roads to 100%.

In addition, the commune also promotes propaganda and encourages households with houses and land near roads and markets to focus on investing in production and business development.

At the same time, the commune focuses on improving the effectiveness of administrative reform, creating favorable conditions for business households and small and medium enterprises to carry out loan procedures to have resources for business investment.

Up to now, in the commune, more than 900 households have received loans from the Social Policy Bank and the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (with a total outstanding debt of 131 billion VND).

Ms. An Thi Thanh Thuy, owner of a grocery store in Doan Ket hamlet, shared: In the past, my family opened a small stall mainly serving local people. In recent years, seeing that some businesses have invested in developing production in the commune, and workers have been coming and going more, I applied for a loan of 50 million VND from the Social Policy Bank to invest in expanding the store. During the loan procedures, I was enthusiastically guided by commune officials, and the procedures were quickly resolved, thanks to which my family soon received the loan capital to invest in developing a stable business until now.

The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ly (in Quang Trung hamlet, Nam Hoa commune, Dong Hy) opened a wooden furniture production and trading facility along National Highway 17.

Nam Hoa Commune currently has 511 households with service shops (an increase of 173 households compared to 2020). The number of households engaged in trade and service business in the commune currently accounts for 38.58% of the total number of households (exceeding 24% of the target set by the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term).

The trade and service sectors are quite diverse, such as: Trading in fresh food, fashion products, consumer goods, household appliances, electricity and water, beauty, agricultural supplies... Thereby not only meeting the practical needs of the people but also contributing to increasing the average income of the people in the commune from 31.5 million VND (in 2020) to nearly 52 million VND/person/year (in 2024).

Total revenue in the trade and service sector has increased rapidly over the years: in 2022 it reached over 889 million VND, in 2023 it reached over 992 million, in 2024 it reached over 1.1 billion VND. Thereby contributing significantly to the commune's budget revenue (revenue exceeding the annual target).

Mr. Le Van Lam, Chairman of Nam Hoa Commune People's Committee, said: The commune continues to pay attention to developing traffic infrastructure; focusing on promoting trade and service activities at Quang Trung market and on National Highway 17. Along with that, it is creating favorable conditions in handling administrative procedures, encouraging households to switch from agricultural production to trade and service sectors, and finding new occupations suitable to local practical conditions. At the same time, coordinate with functional agencies to conduct strict inspections and controls, ensure fire prevention, food safety, combat trade fraud, maintain security and order in the area so that businesses and households can confidently invest in developing production and business...
