Domestic pepper prices updated on the afternoon of March 21, 2025 |
According to experts, in the short term, domestic pepper prices may continue to decrease slightly due to pressure from increased local supply during the harvest season. In the international market, pepper prices are expected to maintain an upward trend due to high demand and limited supply.
The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association said that pepper consumption demand has improved from major markets such as the EU, the US and some Asian countries. However, farmers and traders continue to stockpile goods and sell them in small quantities after the harvest season.
Exporters and traders are actively building up stocks in anticipation of future price increases, despite challenges due to financial and storage constraints.

According to the latest report from Ptexim, consumption demand has shown signs of strong improvement from major markets such as the EU, the US and some Asian countries. However, farmers and traders still maintain the habit of hoarding goods, causing the amount of pepper released to the market to be quite small after the harvest season.
The current financial situation is quite difficult with limited access to capital, increasing the cost of buying and selling. High interest rates affect profits, and cash flow is also constrained during the seasons, especially during peak purchasing periods.
In terms of demand, the Chinese market is showing signs of being quite cautious in purchasing, which is putting pressure on pepper prices. In addition, the hesitation in purchasing from major markets along with increasingly fierce competition among Vietnamese pepper exporters has made the situation even more tense.
