Delegates take a souvenir photo together at the meeting

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the revolutionary fighting tradition and the "indomitable" will of the revolutionary soldiers who were captured and imprisoned by the enemy at Lao Thua Phu; and observed a moment of silence to commemorate and record the contributions of the heroes who sacrificed and fell at Lao Thua Phu.

During the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, Lao Thua Phu was the place the enemy used to detain and torture generations of Vietnamese patriots; including many students, young people, intellectuals; staunch revolutionary activists such as comrades: Nguyen Chi Thanh, Vo Nguyen Giap, Nguyen Chi Dieu, Le Tu Nhien, Le Viet Luong, To Huu... and many other heroes and revolutionary soldiers.

This place has nurtured and tempered the fighting spirit and heroic spirit of countless soldiers and patriotic compatriots, with a spirit of courage, steadfastness, and indomitability in the face of the enemy's brutal torture. During the most difficult and fierce years, the Party Cell in Lao Thua Phu was born and secretly operated. The Cell led and organized many struggles right in the prison, making the enemy terrified many times. Many revolutionary soldiers, many heroic and loyal examples, did not spare their blood and bones, fought and sacrificed for peace, independence, and national unity.

Members of the Hue City Patriotic Prisoners Association share about the place where heroes were arrested and detained at Lao Thua Phu to the younger generation

Half a century has passed, but the memories of the years living in the "hell on earth" under colonialism and imperialism are still deeply engraved in the minds of former patriotic prisoners. Now, with the spirit of "Living in prison with steadfast loyalty, living outside with loyalty", members of the Hue City Patriotic Prisoners Association always promote the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", taking the lead in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; making many contributions and suggestions to the city's leaders; regularly coordinating to organize "remembering the source of water when drinking" activities for members, educating the younger generation on patriotic traditions...

Organizing meetings with revolutionary soldiers captured and imprisoned by the enemy at Lao Thua Phu is also an opportunity to propagate and educate revolutionary pride, foster patriotism, build ambitions, aspirations, noble ideals, and a resilient and indomitable revolutionary will; at the same time, affirm the value of Lao Thua Phu Relic Site, a red address, of great value in contributing to political education, patriotic and revolutionary traditions for today's and tomorrow's young generations.
