In the early morning of May 8, Mbappe scored the opening goal to help PSG beat Troyes 3-1 in round 34 of Ligue 1.

Against the opponent who is second from bottom of the rankings, PSG easily took control of the game despite the absence of Lionel Messi. The away team did not attack too aggressively but still scored at the beginning of each half.
Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring in the 8th minute. Warren Zaire-Emery's cross hit the crossbar and found Mbappe's path. The French star simply headed the ball into the net from close range, putting PSG ahead. Last week, Mbappe also had a lucky goal after a silly mistake by the Lorient goalkeeper.

In the second half, PSG played slowly and doubled the gap, also after a lucky situation in the 59th minute. From a long pass from Marco Verratti, Vitinha escaped to face the goalkeeper. The Portuguese midfielder's header did not beat the goalkeeper but the ball still bounced off him and into the net.
On the other hand, Troyes were underestimated but had a commendable performance against the opponent who is at the top of the rankings. In the last minutes of the first half, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma had to show all his skills to save the away team, after dangerous shots from Ike Ugbo and Mama Balde.
The drama was pushed up in the final minutes of the match. Troyes unexpectedly scored a goal to reduce the score after Xavier Chavalerin's close-range header in the 83rd minute. Just 3 minutes later, PSG sealed the 3-1 victory with a decisive shot that tore the roof off the home team's net by Fabian Ruiz.
3 points away from home helped PSG re-establish a 6-point gap with Lens in the championship race, while there are only 4 rounds left in the season.
