The National Book Award will help the book culture develop and reach out so that knowledge becomes the driving force for the country's comprehensive development in the era of national growth.
On the eve of the 7th National Book Awards Ceremony in 2024 taking place on the evening of November 29 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Information and Communications coordinated with units to organize a Gratitude Party to express gratitude to authors, translators, representatives of publishing houses, and publishing associates who have made great efforts in creating, publishing, and bringing to readers books of high value in terms of content and aesthetics that were awarded this year. Also attending the Gratitude Ceremony were reporters and editors from a number of press agencies who have worked side by side with those working in publishing to regularly inform, promote books, and encourage the development of reading culture over the years. Speaking at the Gratitude Ceremony, Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications - highly appreciated the meaning and value that the award brings. Let me introduce his speech at the Gratitude Ceremony.

Only a few hours left until the 7th National Book Awards Ceremony in 2024 officially begins. In the exciting atmosphere towards this year's Awards Ceremony, a season with many innovations, the Gratitude Ceremony held right before the Awards Ceremony is a new feature, we have the opportunity to sit down, meet, chat and share together, together honor those who have made the success of the National Book Awards, contributing to the development of the country's reading culture over the years. The National Book Award is the result of collective efforts.
First of all, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications, allow me to respectfully thank the authors, translators, and scientists for their talent, enthusiasm, and tireless efforts in bringing excellent works, imbued with cultural and intellectual values to generations of Vietnamese readers, enriching the treasure trove of knowledge and the Vietnamese soul. I wish the authors and translators good health to continue creating more valuable works and projects to serve readers. Contributing to the success of each book is the indispensable role of publishers and affiliated units. On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the State management agency in the field of publishing, I would like to commend the efforts and creativity of the publishers to bring success to today's Book Awards. On behalf of the Ministry's leadership, I would like to thank those efforts, and through you, I would like to thank the team of editors, artists, technical staff of publishers, affiliated units, those who have silently contributed to bringing books to readers. After 6 seasons, the National Book Awards have received more and more attention and recognition from readers. That success cannot be achieved without the team of scientists participating in the judging process. More than 80 scientists, including many leading scientists, despite being very busy, still took the time to participate in the judging process. After 4 months of continuous work, until the last days just a few days ago, I still saw members of the judging panel working, proposing, changing, editing, and making every effort until the last minute of the season to select from hundreds of books to award outstanding books. This is truly a difficult and challenging task, requiring the dedication, intelligence and courage of each member of the Council. On behalf of the Ministry of Information and Communications, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the invaluable contributions of scientists, contributing to the success and prestige of the award.Expectations for the National Book Award in the era of national growth
Each year, our Book Awards have had more positive changes. Larger scale. Higher prize value. More professional and solemn organization. This success, along with the efforts of the authors, publishers, affiliated units, the enthusiasm of the scientists participating in the judging panel, also comes from the attention and support of sponsors, "Generous Donors". Over the years, we have received more support and contributions from agencies and organizations. We understand and are aware that such contributions come from understanding and sharing the goals and meanings of the Book Awards. We would like to sincerely thank the sponsors and hope that the sponsors will continue to be associated with and develop the Book Awards to become larger and more meaningful. On this occasion, I would like to especially thank Vietnam Television, the unit that has closely coordinated with the Ministry of Information and Communications to support the communication of the Awards; Comrade Nguyen Thanh Lam, General Director of Vietnam Television, former Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, who has devoted a lot of effort, enthusiasm, and contributed innovations and creativity to this award. I would like to thank the organizing units of the Vietnam Publishing Association, the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution, the Department of Press and Publishing (Central Propaganda Department) and many other units for their close and responsible coordination to contribute to the success of the awards. As the host of the National Book Awards, the Ministry of Information and Communications understands its honor and responsibility to constantly innovate and create so that the Awards will grow stronger and more prestigious. The success of the past awards is the premise, but for the Awards to develop further in the coming time, it will require a lot of effort from each of us sitting here. I hope that, in the coming time, the National Book Award will continue to receive the companionship, support and contributions of all authors, scientists, publishers, affiliated units and sponsors, so that our book culture will increasingly develop, reach out and truly become an indispensable part of the spiritual life of every Vietnamese person, so that knowledge becomes the driving force to bring the country to comprehensive development and enter a new era - the era of national growth. The 7th National Book Awards Ceremony (2024) will be held at 8:00 p.m. on November 29, 2024 at the Opera House (Hanoi), broadcast live on VTV1. Sponsors: Vingroup, Vietcombank, Vietinbank, BIDV, Agribank, Vietnam Paper Corporation.
