The 2024 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers feature 43 teams divided into 11 groups. The teams will compete in a round robin format, with the group winners and four best runners-up advancing to the finals.

The U23 Vietnam team is in Group C and will meet U23 Guam on September 6, U23 Yemen on September 9 and U23 Singapore on September 12. These matches will take place at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho). With home field advantage and a higher level than the opponent, U23 Vietnam is expected to not have much difficulty in reaching the final round.

The Vietnam U23 team led by coach Hoang Anh Tuan has just made an impression when successfully defending the Southeast Asian championship. After this tournament, the team's best players will be called up to the Vietnam U23 team led by coach Philippe Troussier to participate in the qualifying round of the 2024 AFC U23 Championship.
