On the afternoon of June 28, the contest "Searching for Vietnamese Folk and Bolero Performing Talents 2023" organized by VIPTAM Institute of Technology Application (under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations) in collaboration with VIPTAM Technology Group Joint Stock Company announced the journey to find young talents with 12 music genres.

Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long excitedly said that the contest is expected to contribute to preserving, maintaining and promoting traditional cultural and artistic values ​​of Vietnam in the new era through digital platforms.

Dr. Pham Chi Thanh, Head of the Steering Committee of the contest "Searching for Vietnamese Folk and Bolero Performing Talents 2023", said that this is a cultural and artistic playground implemented under the M12 project: "Application of digital technology platforms to serve the preservation and development of some fields of Vietnamese art" of the VIPTAM Institute of Technology Application, which has been supported and permitted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Public Security; Ministry of Information and Communications, which is an affirmation of the value, purpose, meaning and scale of the project as well as the contest.

The contest is large-scale with 12 genres of folk and bolero music combining traditional and modern on a national scale. "The contest aims to spread the humanistic artistic values ​​in the cultural life of the Vietnamese ethnic community, especially music fans in remote provinces, mountainous border areas and islands, creating a healthy cultural and artistic playground, bringing people closer together, erasing the boundaries of space and time" - Dr. Pham Chi Thanh said.

Experts say the contest creates a new point when combining the Vdone digital platform application and the traditional stage during the contest organization process; promising to create a spread and interaction between contestants and the fan community directly through the technology platform during the contest.

The scoring method for contestants includes: Direct voting points on the Vdone app by the fan community, points from the judges, and points from the expert panel and journalists.

The number of folk and bolero music genres of the contest includes: Northern folk songs, Quan ho folk songs, Cheo stage, Central folk songs, Nghe Tinh Vi dam folk songs stage, Hue - Binh Tri Thien folk songs stage, Bai Choi folk songs stage, Tay Nguyen folk songs, Khmer folk songs stage; Southern folk songs, Cai luong stage art, Bolero.
