The National Assembly Chairman warmly welcomed the delegation of overseas Vietnamese to return to their homeland to reunite, celebrate Tet with their families and attend the Homeland Spring Program 2025. At the meeting, the National Assembly Chairman informed the delegates about the country's socio-economic development achievements in 2024 and emphasized that the overseas Vietnamese community is the strength and bridge between Vietnam and other countries. The Party, State and National Assembly always pay attention to creating favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to return to Vietnam to invest, do business, travel, and visit relatives with open immigration policies...

The National Assembly Chairman informed about the major social security policies of the Party and State, especially prioritizing the elimination of dilapidated houses for the poor. The year 2025 has many major and important holidays of the country such as the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding, the 50th anniversary of national reunification, the 80th anniversary of National Day, the 80th anniversary of the first general election, the Party and State are determined not to leave anyone behind.

In order to accelerate development, the Party and State have made strategic decisions on high-speed railways, restarting the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project, investing in phase 2 of Long Thanh airport...

The National Assembly also has policies on cultural programs, including the construction of Vietnamese cultural centers in several countries. The National Assembly has also created favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to return to Vietnam to live and do business. The passage of the revised land law, housing law, real estate business law, and identity card law all take into account the interests of overseas Vietnamese.

The achievements in 2024 in terms of economy, society, security, defense, foreign affairs, etc. have very important contributions from the NVNONN community. Many people have not returned to Vietnam but always look towards their homeland and country.

2025 is the final year of implementing the 2020-2025 socio-economic development strategy and preparing for the 14th Party Congress, requiring breakthroughs and acceleration of national development. The National Assembly has passed a resolution to strive for an 8% economic growth in 2025. The Politburo has issued Resolution No. 57 on Science and Technology, which identifies development from education and science and technology. The National Assembly Chairman hopes that the NVNONN community will continue to contribute to the country with their intelligence and experience.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang expressed her sincere thanks to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the National Assembly leaders for taking the time to receive the delegation.

The Deputy Minister reported to the National Assembly Chairman on the situation of the overseas Vietnamese community and the valuable contributions of the community to the country over the years. Notable among them are remittances, trade investment, science and technology, charity and people-to-people diplomacy activities... demonstrating love and responsibility for the country. Even in the policy field, overseas Vietnamese have contributed many opinions to many draft laws, which have been accepted and acknowledged by the drafting agencies.

The Deputy Minister also reported to the National Assembly Chairman about the Homeland Spring 2025 program with many meaningful activities of the typical overseas Vietnamese delegation, such as visiting President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, laying flowers at the monument to heroic martyrs, offering incense at Kinh Thien Palace, attending the carp release ceremony with the President and his wife and the ceremony to hand over the decision to recognize national treasures. The delegation also paid a courtesy call to General Secretary To Lam, Chairman of the National Assembly, visited and connected with Hung Yen province, worked with the leaders of Hanoi City and attended the program of the President wishing overseas Vietnamese a happy new year and performing arts.

At the meeting, a number of overseas Vietnamese shared their thoughts, aspirations, and opinions on promoting national unity, socio-economic development, and the contributions of overseas Vietnamese to the new era of the nation.

Ms. Le Thi Thuong, a Japanese expatriate and Principal of Cay Tre Vietnamese Language School, hopes to create more favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to contribute to the country's development and preserve the national cultural identity.

Ms. Le Thi Thuong, a Japanese expatriate, shared her desire to promote the dissemination of Vietnamese culture to Vietnamese students in Japan.

Mr. Ly Hoang Duy, an overseas Vietnamese in Australia and director of an agricultural corporation, proposed negotiations to further expand the Australian market for Vietnamese agricultural products. He also wishes to have Vietnamese nationality to facilitate the opening of a representative office for the corporation in Vietnam.
