Women continue to promote tradition
According to the President of the Provincial Women's Union, Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa, the example of General Nguyen Thi Dinh (Miss Ba Dinh) is forever the pride of women across the country in general, and women in Ben Tre in particular. Women in the province today not only continue the glorious tradition of the "long-haired army" and the shining example of General Nguyen Thi Dinh, but also pioneer in building a sustainable, integrated and developed future. In order to maximize women's potential, the association will closely follow and implement specific policies and programs of the Party and State, in order to create favorable conditions for women to develop their careers, access economic opportunities and participate more deeply in management and leadership fields. Towards the 105th anniversary of the birth of General Nguyen Thi Dinh, the Provincial Women's Union organized meetings, exchanges, visits to the Temple of General Nguyen Thi Dinh at the Nguyen Thi Dinh Memorial Site... combined with a series of activities to celebrate International Women's Day March 8. Unions at all levels also held meetings, promoted the 105th anniversary of General Nguyen Thi Dinh's birth, performed art performances, and responded to Ao Dai Week...
The heart of the Party Committee and people of Giong Trom
According to Secretary of the Giong Trom District Party Committee Nguyen Thai Binh, towards the 105th birthday of Female General Nguyen Thi Dinh (March 15, 1920 - March 15, 2025), the District Party Committee and People's Committee have directed to focus on promoting the peak of propaganda work on the life and revolutionary career of Comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh, emphasizing the great contributions of the female general to the revolutionary cause of our nation; propagating the Ministry-level scientific conference "The life and revolutionary career of Comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh". Up to now, the district has produced 17 news and articles, 34 broadcasts, over 200 minutes in duration on the district radio station and propagandized on 9 outdoor LED screens. Currently, the propaganda work is still being continued.
Along with that, the district will organize a ceremony to receive the certificate of ranking as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic, the birthplace and upbringing place of General Nguyen Thi Dinh (in Luong Hoa commune). Install a signboard to the provincial-level historical relic: The birthplace and upbringing place of General Nguyen Thi Dinh. At the same time, continue to mobilize households in Luong Hoa commune to hang pictures of Cuban President Fidel Castro and General Nguyen Thi Dinh. Carry out landscape renovation at the Moncada Village Memorial House to welcome visitors.

Youth express gratitude
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Vo Tuan Thong said: Propaganda and education of revolutionary traditions for young people have always been focused on by the Youth Union at all levels in the province, and are one of the key contents in performing tasks. Towards the 105th anniversary of the birth of Female General Nguyen Thi Dinh (March 15, 1920 - March 15, 2025), the Provincial Youth Union has organized many propaganda activities on this content. In particular, building a news line, infographics about the life and career of Female General Nguyen Thi Dinh; publishing 2 issues of Young Theory Radio with content about the life and career of comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh (1 issue has been broadcast; a special issue broadcast on Saturday morning, March 15, 2025). Along with that, organizing a journey to the "red address" in the hometown of Dong Khoi (Mo Cay Nam, March 15, 2025). Participated in the discussion at the ministerial-level scientific conference "The life and revolutionary career of comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh".
In particular, the Secretariat of the Provincial Vietnam Youth Union organized the flag-raising ceremony "I love my Fatherland" and visited the Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea Relic (Ben A101), Thanh Phong Commune, Thanh Phu District. Here, in early April 1946, under the order of Zone 8 and the Provincial Party Committee, comrades Dao Cong Truong - Commander of Zone 8 - Head of the delegation, along with comrades Ca Van Thinh, Tran Huu Nghiep, Nguyen Thi Dinh crossed the sea to the North to meet Uncle Ho and ask for weapons support for the Southern battlefield. After 7 days of drifting on the sea, the comrades overcame difficulties, reached the North, and successfully completed the assigned task.
The above mentioned activities aim to express deep gratitude and eternally remember the great contributions of previous generations who heroically sacrificed their lives in the resistance war to liberate the nation and unify the country. At the same time, it demonstrates the determination of the current young generation about their responsibility for the revolutionary cause in the new period.
Artist's feelings
Artist Vo Thi Tri of Ben Tre Cai Luong Art Troupe - an artist who has many times transformed into the role of Female General Nguyen Thi Dinh in plays and Cai Luong excerpts recreating the life and revolutionary career of the female general.
Recalling the memory of her role as Miss Ba Dinh, artist Vo Thi Tri shared that she could not forget the honor of being able to transform into the female General Nguyen Thi Dinh for the first time with the role of female revolutionary soldier Nguyen Thi Van in the excerpt of the play "Under the Green Coconut Tree". That was the performance of the Ben Tre Cai Luong Art Troupe on the evening of January 16, 2017, at the 57th anniversary of Ben Tre Dong Khoi Day in Dinh Thuy commune, Mo Cay Nam district.
Ms. Tri shared that in order to portray the role well, she learned about Ms. Ba’s revolutionary life. Before the performance, she went to burn incense and carefully observed her details and demeanor again. One of the lines of the female revolutionary character Nguyen Thi Van that touched her heart was “If we cannot win, we will be the first to fall.”
Female General Nguyen Thi Dinh is the embodiment of the kind, altruistic yet extremely resilient heart of Vietnamese women. Co Ba demonstrated the mettle and will of an intelligent, resourceful, and courageous woman in the revolutionary struggle, making a glorious contribution to the cause of national liberation.
In addition to the memories of that first night, Ms. Tri also performed with the troupe during a tour in Ca Mau province in 2019 and received a lot of support from the audience as well as co-stars, especially many veteran artists in Ca Mau province. Ms. Tri said that it was her joy to bring the image of Ms. Ba Dinh through the character to introduce to audiences outside the province.
Proud of tradition
Nguyen Bui Nhut Truong, a student of class 12A8 at Nguyen Thi Dinh High School, expressed his pride in studying at this school - the school named after General Nguyen Thi Dinh. Nhut Truong shared that every year, the school's Board of Directors and the School's Youth Union Executive Committee organize for students, especially first-grade 10 students, to visit and burn incense at Nguyen Thi Dinh Temple - Nguyen Thi Dinh Memorial Area (located next to the school) and grades 11 and 12 participate.
At the same time, the union members and students will coordinate with the relic site's leaders to regularly clean and maintain the hygiene in front of the memorial gate. At the same time, the school's Youth Union regularly promotes and organizes competitions to learn about the life and career of Female General Nguyen Thi Dinh in the activities of the school's Youth Union.
Nhut Truong shared that his orientation after graduation is to pursue a career in education and he is striving hard to achieve that goal. His dream is to become a teacher to introduce and teach the younger generations about the heroic historical traditions of the Vietnamese people, of his homeland Ben Tre, including General Nguyen Thi Dinh. Currently, Nhut Truong and many young people have actively used social networks to share and promote images and good articles about General Nguyen Thi Dinh, activities to care for the Nguyen Thi Dinh Memorial Site, etc.
