Site clearance for the project has made significant progress. According to a report from the Bac Kan Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, as of early March 2025, most of the affected households in Bac Kan City and Cho Moi District have been counted and compensation payments have begun.

Specifically, up to this point, in Bac Kan city, the City Land Fund Development Center has completed the second phase of compensation payments to 114 households with a total cost of more than 15 billion VND. In Cho Moi district, the work of counting and compiling compensation records is also being urgently completed. Some households still have problems in receiving compensation money and are being actively resolved by the local government. Technical infrastructure works that need to be relocated have also been planned for implementation.

On March 6, 2025, Project Management Board 2 (Ministry of Construction) announced the bidding results for the construction package of the Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway; The winning consortium includes 4 leading enterprises in the field of transport infrastructure construction, with a contract value of nearly 4,800 billion VND. The construction contract has a duration of 24 months. After signing the contract, the contractors committed to mobilizing human resources, equipment, and materials to implement as soon as the site is handed over, ensuring the progress and quality of the project according to the set plan.

The Cho Moi - Bac Kan Expressway is 28.8 km long, designed to 4-lane expressway standards, with a speed of 80 km/h. When completed, the route will help shorten travel time from Bac Kan to Hanoi and the Northern Delta provinces, creating momentum for tourism and service development and attracting investment.

With careful preparation from site clearance to contractor selection, the Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway project is very close to the groundbreaking milestone.
