On the morning of March 17, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee held a meeting to give opinions on the Project on the direction of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on the Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies; and the report on the progress of work related to amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution.

In his opening remarks, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that at this meeting, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee will give opinions on a number of contents to serve the streamlining of the apparatus to submit to competent authorities.
In that spirit, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly Party Committee will discuss the Draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies; the Project on orientations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Council Deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Therefore, the National Assembly Chairman requested that each agency and unit must lead and direct the strengthening of political and ideological work among cadres, party members, and people, working closely from the central to local levels to unify both awareness and action in implementing the Party's policies for the country's development.
In particular, he emphasized the need to guard against hostile forces taking advantage of the apparatus streamlining revolution to sabotage and distort.

The National Assembly Chairman also requested that for all contents submitted by the National Assembly Party Committee and the National Assembly Standing Committee to competent authorities, the National Assembly agencies must strengthen close coordination with Government agencies to ensure progress and quality of work according to requirements.
At the meeting, Chairman of the Delegation Affairs Committee, Head of the National Assembly Party Committee's Organization Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai presented the content of the Summary Report on the Project on the direction of the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
