Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City paid a courtesy visit to leaders of Vinh Long province

On March 20, Mr. Vipra Pandey - Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City paid a courtesy visit and held working meetings between India and Vinh Long province. Receiving the Consul General was Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Lu Quang Ngoi.

Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi expressed his pleasure at welcoming the Consul General to visit and work in Vinh Long province. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee briefly informed Mr. Vipra Pandey about the socio-economic development situation of the province in recent times. In 2024, the province's socio-economic situation achieved many positive and comprehensive results in all fields; the province achieved and exceeded 21/21 main targets set; of which 8 targets were exceeded; the province's economic growth reached 6.5%; industrial production activities recovered quite well, the province's export turnover reached over 1 billion USD... However, at present, there are no investment projects of Indian partners.

Mr. Vipra Pandey thanked Vinh Long province for the welcome, acknowledged the economic and social development situation in the locality as well as the proposals of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in strengthening cooperative relations in the coming time. The Consul General informed about the areas in which Vinh Long province has potential for cooperation with localities and units in India and vice versa, especially in the two fields of agriculture and garment; information about scholarships of the Indian Government for Vietnamese students...

Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi expressed his excitement about Mr. Vipra Pandey's suggestions on the potential for cooperation between the two sides. With the desire to strengthen the diplomatic relations at the local government level and develop trade and investment between Vinh Long province and localities and units in India, the Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee hopes that the Consul General will continue to pay attention and support in introducing the potential and cooperation needs of Vinh Long province to localities, businesses and investors in India, contributing to fostering the increasingly developing cooperative and friendly relationship between Vietnam and India.
