(Dan Tri) - Foreign tourists enjoy learning about local agricultural products, watching water bailing and rice planting demonstrations... at the 2025 Hoi An rice field festival.
On December 28, the Cam Chau rice field festival took place for the second time in Hoi An city, Quang Nam, attracting the attention of many locals and tourists.
This festival aims to honor the intangible cultural values of traditional rice cultivation, while encouraging farmers to preserve the beauty of their craft villages. This is also an opportunity to promote the image of Hoi An agricultural workers to tourists and spread green tourism.
The festival not only creates an exciting atmosphere for people to welcome the new year 2025 but also arouses the people's attachment and love for their homeland. This is also an opportunity to educate the younger generation about national cultural traditions.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, Chairwoman of Cam Chau Ward, said that in 2024, Hoi An city has included the Cam Chau rice field festival in the city-level festival program, organized annually to encourage farmers to enter the new production season.
The festival is also an opportunity to create tourism products combined with agricultural production, forming cycling tours around the fields. This is an event to promote the image and introduce the traditional wet rice farming profession of Cam Chau farmers to tourists, contributing to creating more green tourism products in Hoi An city.
Mr. Paul Alexander, a tourist from New Zealand, shared his excitement when participating in the festival. Despite the rain over the past few days, he and his family did not miss any attractions in Hoi An.
"Today, when the tour guide introduced us to the local festival, we were very excited to participate. It was pouring rain but it had its own interesting things. We experienced most of the activities here, it was wonderful," said Mr. Paul.
Participating in the festival, visitors have the opportunity to join Hoi An farmers in activities such as bailing water with a bucket, planting rice, pulling buffaloes to plow the fields, and performing tractor formations. In addition, visitors can also enjoy the cuisine of "Farmer's Delicacies" and shop for agricultural products made by farmers.
