Festival to explore Japanese culture and cuisine coming soon in Ho Chi Minh City

(NLDO) - The 10th Vietnam - Japan Festival will be held in Ho Chi Minh City with the theme "Holding hands together - Until tomorrow".


On February 28, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs announced that the 10th Vietnam-Japan Festival in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on March 8 and 9. The event will take place at Area B, 23/9 Park, Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1.

The program is co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam - Japan Festival in Japan. This is an annual cultural and diplomatic activity imbued with the national identity of Vietnam - Japan, affirming the "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" relationship between the two countries, enhancing cultural exchange, promoting trade, investment, tourism, enhancing friendship and mutual understanding.

Mr. Le Truong Duy, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs, said that one of the festival's outstanding activities is the friendship bike ride with the participation of delegates from the two countries and athletes from Ho Chi Minh City and Japan from Ba Son metro station (District 1).

The friendly cycling journey aims to promote and raise awareness of environmental protection, build a healthy lifestyle, and use public bicycles and metro trains in daily life.

The 10th Vietnam - Japan Festival in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on March 8 and 9, at Area B, 23/9 Park, Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1.

"In the context of the friendship, trust and cooperation between the two countries, the 10th Vietnam - Japan Festival is a special event marking the 10-year milestone. The festival, which has been held 9 times with rich and practical content, has affirmed its important role in contributing to enhancing cultural exchange, promoting trade, investment and tourism, as well as strengthening friendship and mutual understanding," said Mr. Le Truong Duy.

This year's festival features exchange programs, trade promotion, cuisine, culture and tourism between Vietnam and Japan at 23/9 Park with about 150 booths.

Visitors will have the opportunity to connect with Japanese travel companies to explore unique tourism products and attractive travel opportunities in Japan. In addition, the food stalls will be a place not to be missed with attractive festival street food with typical Japanese and Vietnamese flavors.

Residents and tourists will be immersed in Japanese cultural space in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Ono Masuo, Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, said that in 2023, the relationship between Japan and Vietnam will be upgraded to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World". In 2025, the relationship between the two countries will continue to develop further in many different fields.

"The exchange between the people of the two countries is the foundation for building a close relationship. This time, many Japanese units wishing to exchange with Vietnam will visit Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the Vietnam - Japan Festival. In the festival space, there will be booths to help visitors experience and buy Japanese dishes, cosplay booths, and booths displaying products about cartoon characters" - Mr. Ono Masuo said.
