On March 2, information from the Traffic Police Department (PC08) of Ho Chi Minh City Police said that in order to better serve the people's needs for registering road motor vehicles when there is no longer a district-level police organization, Ho Chi Minh City Police has decentralized vehicle registration and license plate issuance to police in wards, communes, and towns.

The police force has received requests for driver's license renewals for people in recent days.

Accordingly, the police in 17 wards of districts and Thu Duc City, which were formerly the headquarters of the District and Thu Duc City Police, are now assigned to perform the task of registering and issuing license plates for motorbikes, scooters and vehicles with similar structures.

The police in 63 communes and towns in Binh Chanh, Can Gio, Cu Chi, Hoc Mon and Nha Be districts, which have been assigned to register motorbikes, are now given the additional right to register and issue license plates for cars and specialized motorbikes.
