While fishing at sea, a fishing boat carrying 6 crew members sank at sea, 1 crew member is currently missing.
Specifically, at around 5:00 a.m. on March 2, fishing boat QB 33180-TS of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Van (born in 1963, residing in Canh Duong commune, Quang Trach district) captained by Mr. Nguyen Hoang Van (born in 1989) sank at coordinates 17 degrees 52'N-106 degrees 55'E, about 26.5 nautical miles east of Gianh estuary.
5 crew members on fishing boat QB33180-TS were brought safely ashore.
At that time, there were 6 people on the ship including: Nguyen Hoang Van, Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Nguyen Dinh Ky, Nguyen Khac Cuong, Dong Duc Tai, Nguyen Duy Dung, all of whom were able to cling to life buoys and float at sea.
Then, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Van swam to the fishing boat QB98599-TS captained by Mr. Nguyen Hai Hoang (born in 2006, residing in Tan My residential group, Quang Phuc ward, Ba Don town) operating nearby to ask for help and was brought safely onto the boat.
At about 7:45 a.m., ship QB98599-TS arrived at the area where the fishing boat sank to search for the remaining 5 crew members but did not find them.
During the search, ship QB98599-TS approached ship QB92272-TS captained by Phan Cong Son (born in 1989, residing in Duc Trach commune, Bo Trach district) and saw 4 crew members rescued and brought onto the ship, including: Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Nguyen Dinh Ky, Nguyen Khac Cuong, Dong Duc Tai. Crew member Nguyen Duy Dung is missing.
All 5 crew members were then brought ashore by ship QB98599-TS, and their health is stable.
Currently, the Border Guard Command of Quang Binh province has issued a notice calling on ships operating in the area where fishing boat QB33180-TS encountered an accident to assist in searching for crew member Nguyen Duy Dung.
