This morning (November 28), in Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen Province, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism and Phu Yen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism co-organized a conference on tourism development cooperation between Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen.

At the conference, Mr. Le Huu Hoang, Permanent Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged that both Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces possess rich natural and human resources; Both provinces have unique tourism products with characteristics of each locality that complement each other to develop tourism. Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen are two localities with very close distance, only about 120km apart by road. This is very convenient for coordinating the construction and exploitation of tourism activities between the two localities. In particular, Phu Yen province has advantages in terms of folk cultural values, customs and practices, and many beautiful landscapes that other places do not have.
In recent years, taking advantage of the advantages and potentials of each locality, the tourism industry of the two provinces has initially paid attention to cooperation and linkage, bringing about encouraging results such as: supporting tourists to visit and relax together; connecting and building joint tourism programs of the two localities, contributing to enriching and diversifying the tourism products of the two localities to introduce to domestic and foreign tourists. However, the results have not been high, not commensurate with the potential and conditions of the two provinces.

Attending the conference, Mr. Nguyen Phi Hong Nguyen, Vice President of the Travel Association of Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, proposed opening a 5-day, 4-night Khanh Hoa - Phu Yen tour not only for domestic visitors but also for international visitors. Accordingly, visitors will fly to Cam Ranh airport, the first 2 days will visit and travel to famous places in Khanh Hoa province, the 3rd day will take visitors to Phu Yen to visit and relax in this province, and on the 5th day will see visitors off at Dong Tac airport. According to Mr. Nguyen, Phu Yen has many famous tourist destinations that visitors want to visit such as Ganh Da Dia, Mang Lang Church, Nghinh Phong Square, Hon Yen, Mui Dien, Hon Nua... "We are the pioneers in opening this tour, so we hope that the localities will support us to make our cooperation program successful" - Mr. Nguyen said.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thai, Director of Phu Yen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this promotion activity revolves around specific contents such as surveying tourist destinations in Phu Yen; exchanging and discussing solutions to connect tourism products to form inter-regional tourism routes in the South Central Coast; sharing tourism information to promote the development of tourist sources, diversifying tourism products, creating unique tourism products; forming joint tours with the unique characteristics of each locality to build a common brand of the two provinces.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, said that this is an opportunity for leaders to directly exchange tourism information, update new tourism situations and strengthen cooperation between the two localities in the coming time. Here, leaders of the People's Committees of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces; Tourism Promotion Center and Tourism Association; Airlines and businesses operating in the tourism sector of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces will have the opportunity to frankly discuss the achievements and shortcomings of both sides so that the two localities can support and jointly develop the tourism industry.
Mr. Dao My, Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee, requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of this province to urgently develop a plan to implement the contents of tourism development cooperation in accordance with the new situation in the coming time. Call for investment, upgrade and put into operation new high-end, high-quality tourism products of each locality, thereby developing tourism products linking Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa province in accordance with each international and domestic tourist market. "Conduct surveys to build tour programs connecting the two localities of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen; Coordinate to build attractive policies and promotions to stimulate the domestic tourism market, which is people from Khanh Hoa province visiting Phu Yen and vice versa" - Mr. My suggested.

In particular, Mr. My suggested that airlines study increasing flight frequency; opening new routes from key tourist destinations and developing new direct routes to Cam Ranh International Airport and Tuy Hoa Airport; thereby sharing domestic and international visitors between the two localities, creating opportunities for tourism development between Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen.
