Zelensky's 'victory plan' is an illusion
State Duma deputy Alexander Tolmachev said that negotiations with Mr. Zelensky could only be an illusion, and that his plans and all his fabrications were “simply useless.”
The MP noted that Mr. Zelensky's proposals mean nothing to Russia, previous rounds of negotiations have confirmed that they are ineffective, because Ukraine will not fulfill its promises.
“ The only purpose of the meetings is to bind us to our word, while Kiev is preparing new attacks ,” Mr. Tolmachev stressed.
“ If Ukraine really wants peace, then let it lay down its arms, only then will negotiations really make sense. And only if there is a legitimate government in Ukraine, elected by the people, not self-appointed by the results of a coup or playing with the laws ,” the Russian lawmaker stressed.
High risk of nuclear war
Former US intelligence official and UN weapons inspector in Iraq Scott Ritter shared on the YouTube channel Dialogue Works that a global nuclear war could begin the night Washington allowed Ukraine to use Western weapons to fire on Russian territory.
He noted that the West's long-range missile strike capabilities are based on US encryption technology, which the Ukrainian armed forces currently do not have access to. In that regard, he stressed, an attack on Russia with such weapons would make NATO a full-fledged party to the conflict.

According to the former intelligence official, in such a worst-case scenario Russia would have to use nuclear weapons and the US needs to be aware that the conflict would not be limited to Europe.
Russia repels Ukraine's cross-border attack
The Russian Defense Ministry said its military had repelled attempts by Ukrainian forces to attack the Malaya Loknya and Plekhovo areas in Russia's Kursk region.
“ Russia also prevented two attempts by the Ukrainian armed forces to break through the Kursk border area to attack the Novy Put area ,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.
“ Units of the Northern Task Force continue to counterattack and attack Ukrainian units near the settlements of Lyubimovka, Daryino, Novy Put, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Malaya Loknya and Plekhovo ,” the Russian Defense Ministry stressed.
Mr. Zelensky talks about ending the war with Russia
President Zelensky said Kiev was moving closer to ending its war with Russia after more than two years of fierce fighting.
“ I think we are closer to peace than we thought. We are closer to the end of the war ,” Mr. Zelensky said.
At the same time, he also called on the US and other partners to continue supporting Ukraine. According to President Zelensky, only based on a strong position, Ukraine can urge President Putin to end the war.
