According to the assignment of the Ministry of Health, over the past 5 years, Bach Mai Hospital has supported Nghe An province in training and transferring 65 technical packages in 20 specialties to more than 500 medical staff; sent 46 experts to survey, consult, and provide professional support; organized 10 training courses to update specialized knowledge for nearly 1,000 students; provided online training to improve knowledge on diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute respiratory failure for Covid-19 patients.

With the support of the Ministry of Health and Central Hospitals, in recent years, Nghe An province has also prioritized investment and resources to develop the public and non-public health system. There are 20 public hospitals, 17 non-public hospitals, provincial and district health centers and 460 commune, ward and town health stations. The total health workforce in the sector is currently 20,386 people, including more than 4,400 doctors; reaching a rate of 12.9 doctors/10,000 people. Currently, many new and advanced techniques have been deployed and applied by hospitals to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment services.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung thanked the Ministry of Health and Central Hospitals, including Bach Mai Hospital, for their attention to supporting the development and improvement of the health sector capacity of Nghe An province. With special conditions, 83% of the terrain is mountainous and with great efforts, the work of taking care of the health of local people still faces many difficulties. Hopefully, the Ministry of Health will pay more attention to improving the capacity and development of the health system, especially in 11 mountainous districts.

Affirming that today's meeting has a lot of significance for Nghe An's healthcare, especially improving professional capacity, quality of medical examination and treatment, transferring high-tech - specialized techniques, hospital management for people to benefit, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated that Nghe An is focusing on deploying and effectively implementing Resolution 39 of the Politburo in the new period, including orientations on the healthcare sector. Therefore, he requested the Ministry of Health to pay attention and help Nghe An to complete its set goals. That is to build medical facilities, develop high-tech, specialized techniques in the area so that Vinh city becomes a specialized medical center of the North Central region. Continue to direct Central Hospitals, especially Bach Mai Hospital, to support, transfer and effectively deploy specialized techniques, new techniques; create conditions for Nghe An to establish a number of specialized hospitals in cardiology and tropical medicine. Provide guidance for the Provincial General Hospital to soon become a special-class hospital; Formation of tissue and organ transplantation center.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested Bach Mai Hospital to continue to support and assist Nghe An with a number of other contents; at the same time, assign responsibility to relevant departments and branches to implement the contents according to the direction at this working session.
