The Veterans Association of Cam Lo district has nearly 2,600 members. In recent years, the movement "Veterans help each other reduce poverty and do good business" has been actively responded to by all levels of the association, cadres and members; arousing the will to be self-reliant, self-reliant, helping each other overcome difficulties, striving to do business, and increasing family income.

To help members effectively exploit the potential and advantages of economic development, the District Veterans Association has coordinated with related sectors to organize training courses on cultivation and animal husbandry techniques, and career conversion for 1,650 cadres and members. Create conditions for 1,363 households to borrow preferential loans for economic development with a total amount of 82.8 billion VND.
From this capital, many members have invested in converting crops and livestock in production such as the model of raising goats in captivity; linking pig and poultry farming, growing fruit trees, growing seedlings, growing medicinal plants... creating jobs for more than 1,000 workers who are members and children of war veterans with regular jobs and stable income.
In the past 5 years, the District Veterans Association has reduced the number of poor households and near-poor households by 10 and near-poor households by 11. Now there are only 8 near-poor households and no poor households; the number of well-off and rich households accounts for 76%.
