Mr. Shinozaki, a Japanese train driver expert from the NJPT Joint Consulting Joint Venture, said that training and equipping students with adequate knowledge and practical train operating skills is very important.

Although the students have not had much practical experience, he believes that they will quickly adapt to reality to operate metro train No. 1 well.

Ms. Pham Thi Thu Thao, a student of the train driver technician class, said that she and all the train driver students are ready for the upcoming mainline training program.

Before directly practicing train driving techniques, all students have been trained in theory and simulation programs.

Specifically, when standing in the train cabin, we feel the difference in speed and traction of the train.

"I and other trainees after completing the training course feel ready and confident to be able to complete the task of operating the ship well," said Ms. Thao.

A representative of Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1) said that the NJPT consulting consortium has officially received the handover of 2 trains from the contractor Hitachi to begin practical training on the main line for train drivers of metro line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien).

The event marks a step closer to the official operation of metro line 1.

Accordingly, the team of train driving technicians participated in practical training on the main trains of metro line 1 under the direct guidance of Japanese experts from the NJPT consulting consortium.

The practical training will be completed next September, with contents such as driving trains on the main line in ATO and ATP Normal modes, shunting trains in the Depot, handling emergency situations, checking trains before departure...

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board, in October and November, employees who have completed their training will participate in trial runs.

This is under the independent assessment of the French system safety consultant (BVT), and is eligible for a train driver's license after accumulating enough operating kilometers according to regulations.

Then Vietnamese train drivers will be ready to operate passenger trains when metro line 1 is put into commercial operation.

Previously, on August 5, contractor Hitachi began handing over the entire electromechanical system for package CP3 to the NJPT Joint Consulting Joint Venture.

This serves the practical training on the main line for employees of the Urban Railway Company No. 1.

The No. 1 Urban Railway One Member Company informed that the investor will submit the dossier to the Railway Department to conduct safety assessment and to the State Acceptance Council to complete the acceptance work.

Metro project No. 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien has a total length of 19.7km, including 2.6km underground and 17.1km above ground, a total of 14 stations, including 3 underground stations and 11 above ground stations, the total investment after adjustment is 43,700 billion VND.

To date, the progress of Metro Line 1 has reached 98.38% of the total volume. The project is expected to be completed and put into commercial operation by the end of 2024.
