Ha Tinh Mr. Le Van Quynh, Vice Principal of Ky Xuan Secondary School, left his post for more than three months to go to Korea to find a new job.
Ky Anh District authorities said that on the morning of March 9, Mr. Quynh sent a leave request to the leadership of Ky Xuan Secondary School, citing medical treatment. At noon that day, he sent a message to the school's social media group, writing "requesting leave to find a new suitable job, saying goodbye to colleagues". People then tried to contact him but were unsuccessful.
Working with Mr. Quynh's family, the school board confirmed that the vice principal went to Korea to find a new job, not to go for a medical examination as stated in the leave application.
Since then, Ky Xuan Secondary School has sent out three invitations to work, but Mr. Quynh has been absent. Following the proposal of the School Council, the People's Committee of Kfy Anh District decided to discipline him by forcing him to quit his job on June 8.
Mr. Quynh previously worked in the education sector for decades. His wife is also a teacher at a local secondary school.
According to the Law on Civil Servants, civil servants who take 7 or more working days off in a month or 20 or more working days in a year without a valid reason will be forced to quit their jobs.
