Consultation to elect the 18th Hanoi City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee

This afternoon, August 22, the 18th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi City, term 2024-2029, carried out the first working session program.

Attending the program were Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen; Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Nguyen Lan Huong.

Also attending were representatives of the leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City, Party committees of the City Party Committee, departments, branches, districts and towns of the City and official delegates of the Congress.

In the program this afternoon, the Congress carried out the following contents: a report summarizing the results of the activities of the 5 forums held on the morning of August 22; a report reviewing the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, term XVII, 2019-2024; a report on the personnel plan and consultation to elect the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, term XVIII, 2024-2029; a report on the personnel plan and consultation to elect delegates to attend the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029; and farewell to members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, term XVII, who did not participate in the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, term XVIII.

Notably, here, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Nguyen Sy Truong presented the Personnel Plan and consulted to elect the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, term XVIII, 2024-2029.

Accordingly, based on the current organizational structure of the Vietnam Fatherland Front system in Hanoi and the requirements for implementing the political tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, term XVII, 2024-2029, the expected number of members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, term XVIII is 145 people (an increase of 13 people, equivalent to 9.85% compared to the beginning of the term 2019-2024).

Regarding the composition structure: representatives of member organizations: 51 people, equivalent to 35.17% (an increase of 5 people compared to the beginning of the 2019-2024 term). Chairmen of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of districts, towns and cities: 30 people, equivalent to 20.69% (no increase or decrease compared to the beginning of the 2019-2024 term). Outstanding individuals: 46 people, equivalent to 31.72% (an increase of 5 people compared to the beginning of the 2019-2024 term). Full-time staff of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City: 18 people, equivalent to 12.41% (an increase of 3 people compared to the beginning of the 2019-2024 term).

Regarding the combined structure, ethnic minority delegates account for 3.57% or more; religious delegates account for 8.57% or more; female delegates account for 38.57% or more; and non-Party delegates account for 24.28% or more. Regarding re-elected delegates, the number of re-elected Committee members compared to the beginning of the 2019-2024 term must not exceed 60%.

At the Congress, through a show of hands vote, 100% of the delegates present agreed to negotiate and elect personnel for the 18th term of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, term 2024-2029, including 145 people as in the Project.

At the same time, the consultation elected 22 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates to attend the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029.

The Congress also said goodbye and presented gifts to 12 members of the 17th Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee who did not participate in the 18th Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee.

On the same afternoon of August 22, within the framework of the Congress, the first conference of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, term XVIII, term 2024-2029, took place, in which consultations were conducted to elect leadership positions of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, term XVIII, term 2024-2029.
