Kinhtedothi- The Vietnam Specialty Coffee Roasting Competition is a program within the framework of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025. With the participation of 6 coffee roasting machine brands, gathering 36 excellent coffee roasting artisans from 13 provinces and cities across the country.
On the morning of March 10, at KoTam Community Eco-tourism Area, Tan Hoa Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Vietnam Specialty Coffee Roasting Competition took place.
Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Thien Van - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of leaders of departments and branches of Dak Lak province, media ambassadors, sponsors and artists participating in the contest...
Accordingly, the competition will take place from March 10 to March 13, 2025 with 2 rounds. In the preliminary round, contestants will take a test to roast and taste samples and evaluate the quality of the tasted samples according to SCA standards; the 20 contestants with the highest scores will enter the final round. In the final round, contestants will take a test to roast finished products for Pour Over and Phin brewing. In this competition, contestants must mix the ratio of Arabica and Robusta coffee to produce the best product.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Thien Van - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said: The coffee roasting competition is a special event of great significance within the framework of the Festival. The competition not only aims to honor the art of coffee roasting, one of the most important stages that determines the quality and flavor of specialty coffee, but also an opportunity for artisans, experts, and businesses to exchange, learn, share experiences, and join hands to enhance the value of Vietnamese coffee.
