Speaking to VietNamNet , Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duy Hai, Head of Admissions and Career Guidance Department, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said the incident occurred during the morning exam on March 10. About 150 candidates in 5 exam rooms were affected, while the other rooms continued to take the test normally.
“This is a technical problem that the school has foreseen and included in the regulations. For network and power outages that cannot be resolved before the end of the exam time, the examination board will come up with an appropriate solution to ensure the rights of candidates,” said Mr. Hai.
Mr. Hai added that these candidates will be transferred to the exam session at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon.
This is the 3rd round of 6 thinking assessment rounds in 2024 of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The exam locations take place in the following provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Hai Phong, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Da Nang...
This year, the exam is scheduled earlier than usual with the aim of allowing students who are confident in their knowledge to take the exam early. Another goal is to help candidates get familiar with the content and structure of the exam, the exam software and especially to assess their current thinking ability in order to have a suitable review plan.
The structure of this year's exam remains the same as in 2023, consisting of 3 parts: Mathematical Thinking, Reading Comprehension and Scientific Thinking, in which the content of the exam sections does not focus on testing knowledge of subjects but focuses on assessing individual thinking abilities. In particular, the Scientific Thinking section has "erased the boundaries" between subject combinations, in line with the content of the new high school program.
The remaining exams will take place on April 27-28, 2024; June 8-9, 2024 and June 15-16, 2024 in provinces and cities across the country.
