Hai Phong speeds up construction of Lai Xuan bridge and renovation and expansion of provincial road 352

Currently, contractors have completed about 40% of the work volume of the Lai Xuan Bridge construction project and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge; the project to renovate and expand Provincial Road 352 has completed about 20% of the work volume.

Speed up the work of compensation and site clearance to serve the implementation of construction items to ensure the project is completed on schedule. That is the direction of Deputy Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee at the field inspection of the Lai Xuan Bridge Construction Investment Project and the renovation and expansion of Provincial Road 352 on the afternoon of February 20.

The investment project to build Lai Xuan bridge and renovate and expand provincial road 352 has a total capital of 1,334,876 billion VND from the budget of Hai Phong city and the budget of Quang Ninh province.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, inspected the construction site of Lai Xuan bridge.

This is one of the city's key projects, Lai Xuan bridge over Da Bach river has a length of over 840 m, the main bridge and approach bridge are 12 m wide. The structure is reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete. The bridge has 2 navigation bays with a height of 9.5 m, a width of 70 m for the branch to Phi Liet river on Hai Phong side, a width of 50 m for the branch to Da Vach river on Quang Ninh side. Renovating and expanding provincial road 352 with a length of over 14 km, a cross-section of the roadbed is 12 m wide. The starting point of the route is at the intersection with National Highway 10 in Thien Huong commune, Thuy Nguyen district, the end point of the route connects with provincial road 333 in Dong Trieu town.

According to the report of the Hai Phong Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, up to now, regarding the construction of Lai Xuan Bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge, contractors have completed 79/130 bored piles, are working at 6/16 abutment and pillar locations, and are constructing cantilever beams... the estimated work volume is about 40% of the contract value. Regarding the renovation and expansion of Provincial Road 352, contractors are focusing on road expansion and drainage system construction, reaching about 20% of the work volume.

Regarding site clearance, the current problem is the area of about 9,800 m2 of land that needs to be recovered from Xuan Nguyen Prison to serve the construction of Lai Xuan Bridge and the entire area of land to construct 6 pillars and piers related to 46 households in Yen Duc Commune, Dong Trieu, Quang Ninh. Regarding site clearance for the renovation and expansion of DT.352, there are still 50 households with residential land, 2 households with agricultural land that have not received compensation and support; 38 households with traffic corridor land that have not been handed over.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, requested contractors to focus more on project implementation.

During the inspection, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho requested the contractors to focus more on the construction and expansion of DT.352 because this is the main artery of Thuy Nguyen district. It is necessary to speed up the construction progress to complete each section, the route has been cleared to ensure quality and technical requirements. Strive to complete the 2-layer asphalt paving of the entire DT.352 section on the occasion of the anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day on May 13, 2024 and complete the technical opening of the bridge and culvert sections on the route in August 2024.

The project to renovate and expand provincial road 352 has completed about 20% of the work volume.

For the Hai Phong Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, it is necessary to proactively coordinate with the People's Committee of Dong Trieu town to promote site clearance in Quang Ninh area, to urgently deploy the construction of the bridge piers, abutments and approach roads of Lai Xuan bridge.

Along with that, work directly with Xuan Nguyen Prison to have a site to start construction of the bridge piers and abutments in Hai Phong. Contractors during the construction process also need to comply with regulations on environmental sanitation, traffic safety, have a reasonable traffic flow regulation plan, and limit local traffic congestion.
