After receiving the content of Circular 29 on extra teaching and learning and instructions from the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training, hundreds of teachers in the highlands of Thanh Hoa voluntarily registered to teach free exam review lessons to students.

In the second half of February, 9th grade students in the mountainous districts of Muong Lat, Quan Hoa, and Quan Son (Thanh Hoa) are focusing on studying in the morning and reviewing for the 10th grade high school entrance exam in the afternoon and evening.
Free exam preparation teacher
Having just finished teaching regular classes in class, in the evening, teacher Ngo Minh Ngoc - math teacher at Trung Ly Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities - spends from 7-9 pm to review for free for 123 9th grade students.
"Currently, I teach 24 regular classes in the morning, and in the evening, I spend three sessions a week reviewing for free for students in the dormitory. Students in the highlands have many disadvantages and limitations, and do not have access to reference and advanced books, so reviewing knowledge for 9th grade students to take the 10th grade entrance exam is very necessary," said teacher Ngoc.
According to teacher Nguyen Duy Thuy - principal of Trung Ly Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, Trung Ly Commune, Muong Lat mountainous district, after receiving the content of Circular No. 29 dated December 30, 2024 of the Minister of Education and Training, and the guidance of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training on regulations on extra teaching and learning, the school board has deployed it to teachers in the school.
Recognizing the responsibility of teachers in reviewing grade 9 students for the 10th grade high school entrance exam, the school's literature, math, and English teachers all volunteer to review for students for free.
"Currently, teachers are focusing on teaching more sessions during the week to finish the textbook program early, spending time focusing on reviewing for 9th grade students from now until before the exam" - teacher Nguyen Duy Thuy shared.
At Muong Lat Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, teachers are also "speeding up" the exam preparation for students, because there are only about 3 months left until the 10th grade entrance exam.
Teacher Trinh Van Cuong - principal of Muong Lat Ethnic Boarding Secondary School - said that every year the school has dozens of students registering for the entrance exam to grade 10 of Thanh Hoa Ethnic Boarding High School, Ngoc Lac Ethnic Boarding High School and many "famous" high schools, with high scores, so the school always pays attention to reviewing and fostering knowledge for grade 9 students.

"The school's teachers are always ready to review for free for 9th grade students. The school arranges enough facilities for the classroom with the spirit of doing everything for the beloved students" - teacher Trinh Van Cuong added.
The school will support teachers
According to Official Dispatch No. 404 dated February 17 of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training on free extra teaching and learning in schools, including exam review for final year students. Schools will allocate funds for extra teaching and learning in schools from the budget allocated to units in 2025; develop internal spending regulations, including regulations on the level of spending for organizing extra teaching and learning.
Regarding this content, teacher Nguyen Duy Thuy - principal of Trung Ly Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - shared that because this is the first year of implementing Circular 29, the school is still confused and has not yet prepared a budget to support teachers in reviewing for 9th grade students. The school will consult with schools in the district and ask for opinions from superiors so that at the end of the school year, there will be funds to support teachers in reviewing for the exam.
Teacher Trinh Van Cuong - principal of Muong Lat Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities - said that the school's board of directors has also developed a plan to allocate part of the state budget to support teachers in reviewing for 9th grade students. The school will develop internal spending regulations and seek opinions from superiors to support teachers in accordance with regulations, in order to motivate teachers.
Reward teachers who tutor students for free
According to the guidance of the Thanh Hoa Department of Education and Training on implementing Circular 29, schools prioritize arranging teachers with good professional qualifications and skills to teach final exam preparation for students, limiting the assignment of these teachers to take on other concurrent tasks.
In cases where funding cannot be arranged to encourage and motivate teachers to teach additional knowledge, meet the wishes of students (especially students with unsatisfactory learning results) but do not collect money from students, innovate the way of organizing, guide students to study documents, provide sources of documents and exam questions for students to self-study.
Schools adjust their competition criteria, promptly discover, commend, reward and replicate examples of collectives and individuals who teach and review for free, are dedicated, enthusiastic, wholeheartedly devoted to students, and achieve high efficiency in educational work.
