On March 25, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee held an award ceremony for the contest to select ideas for planning to convert the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an urban - commercial - service area in An Binh ward, Bien Hoa city.

The competition for ideas for planning the conversion of functions of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park was launched by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province at the end of 2024. Seven consulting units that passed the preliminary round with sufficient qualifications and capacity entered the next round.

Through the selection process, based on the scoring results of the jury, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee issued a decision approving the selection results.

Accordingly, the competition plan with code U618 of the consortium of enCity International Consulting Joint Stock Company and PT Studio Rancang Urban Selaras (URBAN+) won first prize.

The competition plan with code D369 of the joint venture Dinh Phat Investment Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company and Omgeving Asia Company Limited won second prize worth 500 million VND.

The competition plan with code N959 of the joint venture Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning and Design Institute and Urban Planning and Development Research Institute won the third prize worth 300 million VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vo Tan Duc - Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee - hoped that after converting the function of the industrial park into an urban - commercial - service area, the overall landscape architecture of Dong Nai River, Cai River and Hiep Hoa Islet will be harmoniously combined.

At the same time, it meets the harmony between architectural works associated with squares, parks, river landscapes with a scale worthy of a political - administrative center of the province.

Especially taking into account the orientation of merging provinces and cities in the coming time. Therefore, the urban - commercial - service area and the political - administrative center of the province must be a work of planning, architecture and must be a landmark project with a long-term existence of over 100 years.

To do this, Mr. Duc requested the Department of Construction of Dong Nai province to continue advising the Provincial People's Committee on the next tasks with a spirit of urgency and effort to continue implementing related planning projects.

Continue to organize a competition for architectural plans for the provincial political and administrative center to get the most beautiful, reasonable and feasible plan, in order to soon be able to deploy and put into use in 2029.

The first industrial park in the country

Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park was established in 1963 under the name Bien Hoa Industrial Park. After 1975, Bien Hoa Industrial Park was renamed Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park and was the first industrial park in the country. Up to now, this industrial park has completed its mission.

In 2021, the Prime Minister approved the removal of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park from the planning of industrial parks in our country.

In early 2024, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province approved the project to convert the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an urban - commercial - service area and improve the environment.
