Former Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh gives gifts to disabled children

On the morning of March 25, Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, former Vice President, and her delegation visited and presented gifts to children at the Vo Hong Son Center for Children with Disabilities (Cho Chua Town, Nghia Hanh District, Quang Ngai).

Here, Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh gave gifts to the children and 80 million VND to Vo Hong Son Center for Children with Disabilities.

Talking with teachers and students with disabilities, Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh acknowledged and praised the efforts of the center's staff, teachers, and employees who have overcome daily difficulties to teach and help children with especially difficult circumstances with literacy and vocational training to help them later have a job to earn a living and integrate into the community.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Director of the Vo Hong Son Center for Children with Disabilities , said that each year the center provides free education for 100-120 children, with the highest number being over 140 children. All of the children are disabled, so teaching them to read and write and vocational skills is extremely difficult.

According to Ms. Ha, this school year, the center educates 109 children. Of which, the center's second facility in Cu Chi District (HCMC) has 16 children from Quang Ngai Province who are studying and learning a trade.

For many reasons, some parents who send their children here pay little attention, only visiting and picking them up on weekends. Therefore, the upbringing is almost left to the teachers of Vo Hong Son Center for Children with Disabilities.

Meanwhile, the education of disabled children here is free. Therefore, the center is able to maintain its operations thanks to the generosity of domestic agencies, organizations and individuals. Therefore, each gift and financial support for the center brings joy and hope to the disabled children here.
