Prevent measles from spreading in schools

Accordingly, the Departments of Education and Training need to proactively coordinate closely with the Department of Health and local authorities, directing educational institutions to implement measures to prevent and control measles according to the instructions of the health sector.

Monitoring the health of preschool children and students should be done regularly. In particular, it is necessary to immediately notify medical facilities when detecting suspected cases of disease so that timely measures can be taken to prevent the spread of the disease in schools.

The Department of Education and Training of provinces and cities also needs to strengthen propaganda and mobilize parents and families to take their children for vaccination to prevent and fight diseases fully and on schedule according to the instructions of the health sector.

In addition, the units coordinate to organize vaccination points at schools to ensure safety, at the same time, review, check medical history and perform catch-up vaccination for preschool children and primary school students according to the instructions in Plan No. 980/KH-BYT-BGDĐT issued on July 19, 2023 by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Training.

At the same time, the Departments of Education and Training continue to promote communication on the prevention of measles and other respiratory infectious diseases in appropriate forms. In addition, it is necessary to regularly update information on the epidemic situation and strictly implement the requirements for disease prevention and control according to the instructions of the health sector.
