Director of Bac Lieu Department of Health disciplined

The Director and Deputy Director of the Department of Health of Bac Lieu province were disciplined with a warning due to their involvement in a case of violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences at this department.

On December 9, according to a source from Giao Thong Newspaper, the Party Executive Committee of Bac Lieu province has just implemented a decision to discipline Mr. Bui Quoc Nam, Director of the Department of Health of Bac Lieu province, with a warning, due to his involvement in a case of violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences.

Regarding the case, the Inspection Committee of Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee has implemented a decision to discipline Mr. Tran Hoai Dao, Deputy Director of the Department of Health of Bac Lieu province, with a warning.

Previously, the Investigation Police Agency of Bac Lieu Province Police prosecuted and temporarily detained three suspects including: Huynh Thanh Phong (58 years old), Head of the Financial Planning Department of Bac Lieu Province Department of Health), Le Trong Bang (43 years old), Director of Hop Phu Technology Investment and Development Joint Stock Company), Do Manh (41 years old, residing in Hanoi) to investigate the violation of bidding regulations causing serious consequences.

At the same time, the police agency also prosecuted and temporarily detained the accused Le Minh Tue (59 years old, residing in Ho Chi Minh City), Director of TD Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Company Limited, to investigate the act of violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences and money laundering.

According to the initial investigation, the police agency determined that the defendant Phong had acted unfairly and transparently in bidding, creating conditions for the consortium of T&C Hanoi Trading Joint Stock Company and TD Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Company Limited to win the bid, causing a loss of more than 20 billion VND to the state budget.
