After the Lunar New Year, the increased sales volume pushed the London coffee price down. However, according to experts' analysis, coffee prices on both derivatives exchanges are currently less affected by supply and demand information, but mainly by speculation and the macro-economic picture, as well as trade and currency wars between countries.

The Government Office has just issued Document No. 1407/VPCP-NN announcing the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha regarding the press information reflecting "Vietnam's food exports are warned by the EU".
Accordingly, many types of food are continuously warned by the EU, putting Vietnam at risk of losing its billion-dollar export market if there are no timely corrective measures.
The reason is that some businesses have not registered products containing new food ingredients, violating European approval procedures. Many cases of incorrect declarations according to registration documents about raw materials, especially ingredients that can cause allergies to consumers, raise major concerns about transparency and food safety.
More seriously, some products contain additives that are not allowed to be used or exceed the prescribed level, forcing the EU to order an immediate recall. Or many shipments contain animal ingredients but do not undergo veterinary quarantine at the border, directly violating EU biosafety regulations.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assigned the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, according to their assigned functions, tasks and authority, to urgently direct and drastically and effectively implement measures to enhance information, dissemination and guidance for production and trading establishments of agricultural products and exported food to regularly update and fully implement regulations on hygiene, food safety and disease safety of export markets.
Along with that, strengthen inspection and supervision of raw material areas, preliminary processing, processing and packaging facilities to ensure compliance with regulations on epidemiological hygiene measures and animal and plant quarantine, avoid food safety warnings, affecting the reputation and brand of Vietnamese agricultural products and food in the international market.
