On the morning of August 24, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Newspaper awarded 240 scholarships for studious female students overcoming difficulties in the third phase of the 2024-2025 school year. The scholarships are for children of women's union members, female workers in difficult circumstances, and female students orphaned due to the COVID-19 pandemic in districts and Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.
This is the 33rd time that Women's Newspaper has awarded scholarships to studious female students who overcome difficulties. This year, the number of scholarships increased to 310 with a value of nearly 720 million VND.
The scholarships were awarded to female students in many localities, with 3 rounds of awards in Thoi Lai district, Can Tho city (50 scholarships), Thanh An and An Thoi Dong island communes, Can Gio district (20 scholarships) and Ho Chi Minh City (240 scholarships).
Journalist Pham Thi Van Anh - deputy editor-in-chief of Women's Newspaper, said that since the first time in 1991, the newspaper has awarded 9,083 scholarships to students worth nearly 14 billion VND.
