Many fields are flourishing
Mr. Nguyen Quang Manh - Standing Deputy Secretary of Duy Xuyen District Party Committee said that in the first quarter of 2025, all levels, sectors and localities focused on leading and directing the implementation of tasks and solutions according to the set plan, achieving many positive results in all aspects of work.
The total production value of Duy Xuyen's industry and handicraft sector in the first 3 months of the year is estimated at 1,077 billion VND, an increase of 31.7% over the same period in 2024 and reaching 22.1% of the 2025 plan. Trade and service activities have many positive changes; market management and control, and anti-commercial fraud have been strengthened.
The agricultural sector has many changes, the whole district has planted about 7,422 hectares of various crops. Of which, the rice area is 3,474 hectares, peanuts 642 hectares, corn 419 hectares, vegetables of all kinds 1,839 hectares... Thanks to relatively favorable weather, farmers have systematically applied intensive farming techniques, so most crops have grown and developed well and are expected to achieve high productivity and output.
Mr. Manh added that in the first quarter of 2025, Duy Xuyen's total state budget revenue is estimated at 496.9 billion VND; if excluding the balance, previous year's transfer, mobilization, contribution and collection from lower-level budgets, the revenue generated is 431 billion VND, reaching 28.6% compared to the estimate assigned by the District People's Council and equal to 113% compared to the same period last year.
“In the first 3 months of this year, Duy Xuyen implemented the construction of 8 projects such as Cay Son dam, Go Ong Son canal to Cau De (Trung Dong village, Duy Trung commune), hydroelectricity for colored soil in the specialized food crop growing area of Bac Giang (Phu Bong village, Duy Trinh commune)... At the same time, it temporarily stopped implementing new construction projects, renovating and repairing district and commune headquarters in the district” - Mr. Manh added.
Many concerns
Mr. Le Dac Ha - Secretary of Duy Hoa Commune Party Committee said that the arrangement of administrative units is a major policy of the Party and State, contributing to streamlining the organizational apparatus, expanding the scale and space for development, and improving the quality of people's lives. However, currently, many cadres and party members are quite worried and anxious because they do not know where they are going, where they are going, and even quit their jobs.
“In the context of merging administrative units, there are many redundant cadres and civil servants. If I have to retire, I am ready with the hope that the younger generation will continue to inherit and make a stronger breakthrough to take on local work. At the same time, I also hope that superiors will pay special attention to the regime, policies, and support in finding jobs to stabilize family life, especially for young cadres,” said Mr. Ha.
According to Mr. Trinh Cong Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Phuoc town, the issue of concern after the merger is to arrange the right cadres and civil servants for the right job and to resolve the redundancy, creating high consensus and unity. This is also the concern of most cadres and civil servants of Nam Phuoc town in the past time.
“In the past two weeks, I have heard about the continued innovation, reorganization, and streamlining of the apparatus, especially Conclusions No. 126 and 127 of the Central Committee, everywhere I go. The ideological situation and public opinion among a number of cadres and party members have shown signs of wavering, anxiety, worry, and lack of positivity in their work... which has significantly affected the implementation of political tasks in the locality,” said Mr. Son.
At the conference, most opinions mentioned that when merging provinces, eliminating district level, and rearranging commune level, the number of cadres, civil servants, and public employees that need to be streamlined will be very large and require the remaining team to have sufficient qualifications and capacity to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
Mr. Cao Thanh Hai - Secretary of Duy Xuyen District Party Committee said that in the coming time, the locality will continue to focus on implementing the conclusions of the Politburo and the Central Party Secretariat on the organization of the apparatus and arrangement of administrative units. This is an extremely important task, requiring quick and drastic action, ensuring compliance with the Party's policies and guidelines and the State's laws.
According to Mr. Hai, the arrangement and merger of commune level and the abolition of district level is a big, difficult and complicated task and is creating concerns and emotions among cadres, party members and the people. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen information, propaganda, raise awareness and responsibility from within the Party Committee to lead and direct the implementation of ideological work well, creating consensus among the entire political system.
Party committees and organizations must closely monitor the grassroots situation; grasp the thoughts, aspirations and wishes of cadres, party members and people related to the policy of rearranging and streamlining the apparatus of the political system to promptly advise the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee to direct the timely resolution of arising issues, avoid ideological hot spots, and contribute to creating trust among cadres and party members in the Party's policies and guidelines in the spirit of leaving no one behind.
"Along with that, each cadre and party member, especially leaders at all levels, sectors, units and localities, must enhance their sense of responsibility, take the lead in complying with discipline, administrative discipline, working regulations, and ensure good performance of assigned political tasks," said Mr. Hai.
