Duy Xuyen, the journey of 95 springs with the Party

Golden history

95 years ago, on the night of April 30, 1930, on a boat moored along the Ba Ren River in Tan My Dong village (now Phuoc My block, Nam Phuoc town), Tan My Dong Party Cell - the first party cell and also the predecessor of Duy Xuyen District Party Committee was officially established.

When it was first established, Tan My Dong Party Cell had 5 party members, including Le Tuat, Nguyen Thuy, Dang Hoang, Tran Cuc, and Nguyen Hua. Among them, comrade Le Tuat was appointed as Secretary. This was a major political event, both proving the strong vitality and rapid development of the Communist Party of Vietnam and affirming Duy Xuyen as one of the localities with the earliest revolutionary movement in the whole province.

According to the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Duy Xuyen District Party Committee, from the first party cell with only 5 party members, after a short time, party organizations in Duy Xuyen area were gradually consolidated and continuously developed.

By July 1930, Duy Xuyen Party Committee was established with 5 party cells and 29 party members, becoming the political nucleus leading the people's revolutionary movement.

When the opportunity came, under the leadership of the Party, the people of Duy Xuyen rose up to seize power as soon as possible in Quang Nam on August 18, 1945, opening a new era for our nation - the era of national independence associated with socialism.

During the period 1945 - 1975, the army and people of Duy Xuyen continued to achieve resounding victories. Typical examples were the Thu Bon victory (August 1949); the victory on Highway 104; the battle to destroy the Cay Ban Watchtower, Non Truot, Cau Chim, Kiem Lam posts or the victory in Van Quat, Xuyen Thanh. Along with that were the ambushes to attack the US-puppet posts in Kiem Lam, An Hoa, Duc Duc...

With glorious achievements and the dedication and sacrifice of cadres, party members, army and people of Duy Xuyen, the Party and State have honored it twice with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces; 13 communes, towns and 23 individuals have been posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

Bright new day

During the 95-year journey, Duy Xuyen District Party Committee has always been steadfast in its ideal goals, promoted the strength of the great national unity bloc, focused on Party building work, and thus achieved great victories in the cause of building the homeland.

In 2024, the Party Committee and government in Duy Xuyen will continuously strive to overcome difficulties, focus on leadership and direction to well implement important goals and tasks.

Accordingly, in the past year, the district's industrial and handicraft production value reached 4,598 billion VND, an increase of 7% compared to 2023; agricultural production value reached 1,683 billion VND, an increase of 2.7% compared to 2023; the trade and service sector maintained positive growth momentum, especially the tourism sector with many improvements.

In 2024, the number of visitors to My Son will reach more than 445,900 (an increase of 17.7% compared to 2023) and the total revenue is estimated at 71.5 billion VND (an increase of 19% compared to 2023). In 2024, Duy Xuyen's average income per capita will reach 62.2 million VND, an increase of 6.7 million VND compared to 2023...

Mr. Nguyen Cong Dung - Secretary of Duy Xuyen District Party Committee said that 2025 is of special importance, as it is the year of holding party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 22nd Duy Xuyen District Party Congress. Duy Xuyen identified 2025 as the year to effectively implement the streamlining of the organizational apparatus; promote the development of infrastructure, urban areas, tourism and digital transformation; practice thrift, fight waste and successfully organize party congresses at all levels for the 2025 - 2030 term.

This year, the district strives for an economic growth rate of 10%, an average income per capita of 70 million VND, economic revenue of 1,060 billion VND, total social investment capital increasing by 25%, creating new jobs for more than 1,800 workers. In particular, the target of party admission is completed, the rate of party members and grassroots party organizations completing their tasks well is 90% or more, no grassroots party organization fails to complete its tasks.

According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Dung, the targets and tasks for 2025 as well as the period 2025 - 2030 are very heavy, requiring the Party Committee, government and people of Duy Xuyen to be united, creative and determined in organizing and implementing. At the same time, constantly learning, approaching new things, struggling to find suitable and effective directions to adapt and develop quickly, strongly and sustainably...
