Donny van de Beek will be allowed to leave Old Trafford when the winter transfer window opens early next year.
Since moving to MU, Donny van de Beek has often suffered injuries. |
Van de Beek was recruited by coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from Ajax for £35 million in the summer of 2020.
In more than 3 years playing for the Red Devils, the Dutch player has only started 15 matches in the Premier League. This season, Van de Beek has only had 2 minutes of playing time in the most difficult tournament in the foggy country.
Talking about the situation of his fellow countryman, coach Ten Hag said: "Van de Beek has to play football for his career and many other things."
Having scored on his debut against Crystal Palace, Red Devils fans hope Van de Beek will become a mainstay in MU's midfield.
However, a lack of playing opportunities and a series of injury problems turned his time at Old Trafford into a nightmare.
The former Ajax player missed most of last season after suffering a serious knee ligament injury.
Van de Beek almost joined Real Sociedad in the summer but the transfer deal fell through at the last minute.
He confided to Diario AS : "I was very close to Real Sociedad but at the last minute, the two clubs could not reach an agreement.
It's time to make a decision. I have to play. If that's not possible at United then I'll go to another team.
This is a normal ambition of a professional player. I am making a good living at MU but money has never been my motivation."
