According to VTC News reporters this morning (January 9), at Tran Nhan Tong gold street (Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi), people continued to line up to buy gold at large stores. According to observations, the number of people coming here was even larger than at the same time yesterday morning (January 8).

Sitting in line, holding a ticket with a queue number waiting to buy gold at Bao Tin Minh Chau on Tran Nhan Tong Street, Mr. Tran Trong Trang, 32 years old, said he had been sitting in line for 35 minutes but it was not his turn yet.

"This year's God of Wealth Day falls on Monday, the first day of the week, so I can't take a day off, so today is the 9th, I went shopping first. I thought it wouldn't be crowded, but it turned out to be incredibly crowded," said Mr. Trang.

Inside large gold stores, customers are instructed to line up or sit and wait their turn.

Every year on the occasion of God of Wealth Day, Mr. Trang buys gold for luck. In difficult years, he buys less, but in years when his personal finances are good, he buys more, as savings.

Also waiting to buy gold, Ms. Thu Hang, residing in Dong Da (Hanoi), said that every year on the day of the God of Wealth, she goes to buy gold to burn incense with the Tam Sen offering tray to pray for luck.

“Buying gold at the beginning of the year has long been a tradition in my family. No matter how much lucky money my children receive, they take me to buy gold and store it for them. If there is a shortage, I will add more so that everyone can buy 0.5 - 1 tael of gold and store it,” said Ms. Hang.

Ms. Hang said she often buys plain round rings because they come in a variety of sizes, from a few centimeters to a few chi. Moreover, the price of gold rings is quite close to the world gold price, so buying this type of ring is a better investment.

The parking lot in front of Bao Tin Minh Chau store (Cau Giay) is full of customers.

At present (11am on February 18), Bao Tin Minh Chau listed gold rings at 64.78 - 65.88 million VND/tael (buy - sell). SJC gold bars are listed at 75.85 - 78.05 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

At the same time, SJC listed gold bars at 75.8 - 78.4 million VND/tael (buy - sell); round gold rings at 63.6 - 64.9 million VND/tael. Doji listed SJC gold bars at 75.75 - 78.35 million VND (buy - sell); round gold rings at 64.2 - 65.65 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
