Total production value in 2023 is estimated at VND 18,745 billion, up 6.35% compared to 2022. Of which, agriculture and fishery are estimated at over VND 3,600 billion, up 2.54%; industry and basic construction are estimated at VND 11,860 billion, up 7.6%; trade and services are estimated at over VND 3,200 billion, up 6.3% compared to 2022. The economic structure is shifting in a positive direction: agriculture accounts for 22.5%, industry and basic construction account for 57.3%, trade and services account for 20.2%. Total social development investment capital is estimated at VND 5,346 billion, up 6.2% compared to 2022; export turnover is estimated at 219.6 million USD. Average income is VND 61.38 million/person/year.

During the year, Party committees and authorities at all levels have paid attention to directing and correcting violations in land management and use and difficulties in land clearance and recovery, so there have been positive changes. Up to now, Dong Phuong commune has been recognized as a commune meeting advanced new rural standards; the district is focusing on directing 4 other communes to complete the criteria for appraisal at the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024. During the year, 14 projects were approved for investment policy.

In 2024, Dong Hung district strives for a total production value of VND 22,090 billion, an increase of 10.8% compared to 2023; total social investment capital increases by 9% compared to 2023; export turnover reaches 219.6 million USD; by the end of 2024, there will be 5 more communes achieving advanced new rural status; the poverty rate decreases by 0.14% compared to the same period.
