Energizing transformer T2, 110kV Chon Thanh transformer station

BPO - On the afternoon of November 28, in Thanh Tam ward, Chon Thanh town, Binh Phuoc Electricity Company organized the energization and put into operation the project to increase the capacity of Chon Thanh 110kV transformer station. This is the 3rd project out of 4 transformer stations invested by Southern Power Corporation in Binh Phuoc province to be energized and put into operation in November 2024.

The project to increase the capacity of Chon Thanh 110kV transformer station from 2x40MVA to 2x63MVA is invested with a total capital of over 58 billion VND. Of which, phase 1 has been completed with the replacement of transformer T2, phase 2 is expected to be implemented at the end of December 2024. The project, when put into operation, will help the power grid operate continuously and stably, ensuring supply to industrial parks in Chon Thanh town, Hon Quan district and neighboring areas of Binh Duong province.

Successfully energized transformer T2

In the first 10 months of 2024, the demand for electricity in Binh Phuoc province increased by 14% compared to the same period in 2023 and is estimated to increase by over 11.96%/year for the whole year. The proportion of commercial electricity serving industrial and construction loads increased rapidly, accounting for nearly 60% of the total commercial electricity output of the whole province. To meet the demand for industrial development in particular and socio-economic development in general, Binh Phuoc Electricity Company has proposed that the Southern Power Corporation invest in 18 power lines and 110kV stations in the province, striving to complete energizing 7 projects in 2024 alone.
