Meanwhile, the Syrian players also created some attacking situations but not really clear. The first half ended with a 0-0 draw.

In the second half, coach Philippe Troussier sent Tuan Hai and Tien Anh onto the field to replace Cong Phuong and Van Thanh. The substitution by the head coach of the Vietnamese team paid off. In the 49th minute, from a pass from Thai Son, the new player Tuan Hai controlled the ball and then turned around to shoot very quickly outside the penalty area, the ball went deep into the dead corner, leaving the Syrian reserve goalkeeper helpless, opening the score for the Vietnamese team.

With the goal, the Vietnamese team played with more enthusiasm and continuously created dangerous attacks on the Syrian side but no more goals were scored. On the contrary, the Syrian players appeared to be very deadlocked in the final situations. In the end, the Vietnamese team won 1-0 against the West Asian opponent at the "fire pan" Thien Truong.
