Stage 2 of the Binh Duong International Women's Cycling Tournament - Biwase Cup 2025, 114km long from Khanh Vinh (Lam Dong) to Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), was extremely exciting right from the first kilometers.
A group of 5 racers including Nguyen Thi Kim Ngoc (Vinh Phuc), Tran Huynh Anh Van (Military Zone 7), Nguyen Thi Kim Vang (Military Zone 7), Tran Thi Ngoc Trang (620 Chau Thoi - Vinh Long) and Nguyen Thi Be Hong (XSKT Dong Thap) proactively attacked and created a gap of more than 1 minute compared to the large group.
However, when only about 2km away from sprint 1 (after 35.5km of starting), this group was caught. In the sprint 1 point battle, Nguyen Thi That (Loc Troi An Giang) excellently overcame strong opponent Jutatip Maneephan (Thailand) to win.
As the race entered Ru Ri Pass, the Biwase Binh Duong team showed good control, helping the two racers Natalia Frolova and Zakharkina Valenriya take the two leading positions at the top of the pass.
At the Rò Tượng Pass, the international teams began to rise with the attack of Abdllaeva Shakhnoza, Kakhkhorova Madina (Uzbekistan) and Balaeva Sojia (France). Shakhnoza then won at the top of the pass. But the group could not maintain the high speed and was gradually caught by a few riders from the following group, creating a leading group of nearly 10 riders.
As she neared the finish line, Japanese girl Kusuga Watabe made a decisive sprint, overtaking everyone to cross the finish line first, winning the stage convincingly. This achievement also helped Watabe temporarily keep both the yellow and green jerseys overall.
On March 14, the racers will enter stage 3 with a 135km route from Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa) to Phan Rang - Thap Cham City (Ninh Thuan).
