Tourism revenue at Hue Heritage Site reaches all-time record

According to the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, 2024 is a year that will leave many historical marks in the work of preserving and promoting the value of Hue Heritage. Many key architectural works have completed restoration and renovation. Many typical works have been started. Many types of services and applications of science and technology have been deployed, contributing to bringing Hue Heritage closer to the people and domestic and foreign tourists. Hue Heritage not only brings spiritual value but also contributes greatly to the development of local tourism and economy.

Kien Trung Palace relic received the attention of tourists after completing restoration.

Specifically, last year, 5 projects for heritage conservation, restoration and rehabilitation were completed and accepted for use; 6 important projects were newly started. The restoration and rehabilitation of relics was carried out in a systematic and scientific manner, in compliance with UNESCO's regulations and principles for heritage conservation and relevant legal regulations. After the restoration was completed, the projects were highly appreciated by experts and public opinion at home and abroad, creating special highlights, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit such as: Kien Trung Palace, Thai Hoa Palace, Hai Van Quan, etc.

2024 also recorded the number of visitors to Hue Heritage continued to grow, revenue from ticket sales was higher than the previous year. The total number of visitors reached more than 2.7 million (up 19.14% over the same period in 2023). This is also the year with the largest revenue ever with total revenue of 422,238 billion VND (up 18.63% over the same period in 2023, up 66.3 billion VND); reaching 132% compared to the state plan. The amount paid to the state budget in 2024 is 245,730 billion VND.

Also according to the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, in the past year, many more artifacts and festivals continued to be recognized as National Treasures and National Cultural Heritages. In particular, "The reliefs on nine bronze cauldrons in the Hue Royal Palace" were officially recognized as a Documentary Heritage of the Asia-Pacific Region. This event is the pride of Vietnam in general and Hue City in particular, contributing to enhancing the status of Hue Heritage with "One destination, 8 heritages".

In 2024, this unit also advised and coordinated the successful organization of the Four Seasons Festival. In particular, the successful organization of the Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 "Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development" has created a unique and widespread impression in the hearts of people and tourists.

Last year, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center was considered a pioneer in applying modern science and technology to the field of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage values ​​of the whole country. The increasingly rich and diverse service activities have contributed to improving the quality of tourist services, increasing the experience for visitors when visiting Hue Heritage.

Promoting the achieved results, in 2025, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center sets out a number of key tasks such as: Continuing to promote the conservation, restoration and rehabilitation of monuments to gradually bring the Complex of Hue Monuments back closer to its original form, contributing to attracting tourists to Hue Heritage; Researching, developing and promoting solutions to attract tourists to visit Hue Heritage to increase revenue from entrance tickets and services, aiming for a higher revenue level each year than the previous year; Promoting research and building heritage dossiers to propose competent authorities to recognize heritage.../.
