Efforts to meet electricity needs for production and daily life

Leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade, People's Committee of Cau Ngang district and Tra Vinh Electricity inspected the "Project of installing T2-40MVA transformer at Cau Ngang substation" - a project to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels of Tra Vinh Electricity Company.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, 99.8% of households use electricity safely, of which 99.64% are rural households. By 2024, the province will develop 34.51 km of medium-voltage lines, 28.61 km of low-voltage lines and 484 transformer stations. Currently, the power source ensures socio-economic development, national defense and security.

Achieving the above results, in the past 10 years (2014 - 2024 period), with the efforts of the province, the Electricity sector and localities, many rural electrification projects have been jointly implemented in Tra Vinh province; including 04 large projects, of important significance and promoting socio-economic development, with 40,705 households benefiting and many medium and low voltage lines invested to serve the daily life and production needs of the people, with a total investment of 717.6 billion VND. At the same time, many projects, upgrading, renovating and building new medium and low voltage power grids have been invested by the Southern Power Corporation and Tra Vinh Power Company; in 2024, 24 medium and low voltage power grid projects will be invested, with a total investment of 344 billion VND.

Project to supply electricity to households without electricity, mainly Khmer people, with a total investment of 469.7 billion VND, supplying electricity to 34,926 households in 83 communes of 07 districts and 01 town; second; Component project "Improving, upgrading and developing the power grid for industrial shrimp farming in Tra Vinh province" under DPL3 Project, with a total investment of 107.4 billion VND, supplying electricity to over 5,779 industrial shrimp farming households; Project of electricity supply works for aquaculture (industrial shrimp farming) in 04 districts: Chau Thanh, Cau Ngang, Duyen Hai and Duyen Hai town, invested by Southern Power Corporation and Tra Vinh Power Company in the period 2016-2019, with a total investment of 118.5 billion VND; The project to supply electricity to Con Phung, Chau Thanh district and An Loc islet, Cau Ke district, invested by Southern Power Corporation and Tra Vinh Power Company in 2017-2018, with a total investment of 22 billion VND, supplying electricity to 282 households.

According to the leader of Tra Vinh Electricity Company, according to the plan to implement the Electricity Plan VIII (Decision No. 262/QD-TTg, dated April 1, 2024) of the Prime Minister, Tra Vinh was approved 311 billion VND, including 190km of medium voltage lines, 514km of low voltage lines, 321 transformer stations, supplying electricity to 20,939 households under the Rural, Mountainous and Island Electricity Supply Program according to the approved plan to implement the national electricity development plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 to supply rural electricity from the national grid of Tra Vinh province.

In 2025, Tra Vinh Power Company will continue to mobilize capital, with an estimated total investment of about 276.5 billion VND to invest in new development, renovation and upgrading of 19 medium and low voltage power grid projects supplying electricity to residential areas and rural areas to ensure stable power supply for socio-economic development of localities, especially rural areas.
