Binh Khanh Bridge with a total investment of more than 2,800 billion VND will be completed and officially put into use in September 2025.
Binh Khanh Bridge (J1 package) of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project with a total investment of more than VND 2,800 billion, started construction in August 2015, expected to be completed after 47 months. By December 2018, despite reaching 70% of the progress, the project was forced to temporarily stop construction due to difficulties in funding.
After a 5-year pause, by the end of October 2023, the contractor restarted construction of the project with a plan to complete it in September 2025.
According to Dan Viet reporters, at the construction site, hundreds of workers are focusing on constructing the main items of the project.
Binh Khanh Bridge is designed with two main spans 375m long across the riverbed, placed on two towers 155m high, using steel pipe pile foundation. Thanks to the cable-stayed structure, the bridge has a clearance of up to 55m - the highest in Vietnam to date.
A representative of the Southern Expressway Management Board (under the Vietnam Expressway Corporation) said that after more than 1 year of restarting, Binh Khanh Bridge has reached over 92% of its volume.
Currently, workers are focusing on casting the cantilever and installing the cable-stayed. To date, the project has completed 15/18 bridge castings and is expected to be completed in early September 2025.
Binh Khanh Bridge crosses the Soai Rap River, connecting Nha Be and Can Gio districts of Ho Chi Minh City.
Binh Khanh Bridge is an important traffic route of Nha Be district. When completed, the project will help Ben Luc – Long Thanh expressway connect seamlessly from Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong expressway, completing the traffic network through Ho Chi Minh City.
