After the incident of 132 students of Hoa Sen Kindergarten being absent from school due to a problem with their boarding meals, most of them have now returned to school.
After the incident of 132 students of Hoa Sen Kindergarten staying home due to the issue of boarding meals, the school and parents found a common voice to choose a new food supplier. Accordingly, the new supplier chosen is the business household Hoang Thi Hao (Bao Ha commune, Bao Yen district).
Speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Ms. Dam Thi Hoai An, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Bao Yen district, said that after being interrupted, from November 12 until now, the boarding activities have been stable and received the consent of parents.
The school’s attendance rate today (November 25) was 85.4%. At 3 schools, 54 students were absent. Ms. Luc Thi My Le, the school’s principal, said that these students were absent due to illness or fever and all had permission.
"It's the transitional season so many children are sick, especially at Lien Hai and Hong Son schools. The school is coordinating with Bao Ha Commune Health Station to make a specific list to monitor and take care of the children's health," said Ms. Le.
Previously, on November 11, Hoa Sen Kindergarten did not organize to cook and serve lunch. Instead, parents will bring lunch to their children or pick up their children at noon and bring them back to school in the afternoon.
The cause of the above incident was that at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, the school signed a contract with Hong Quang General Service Company Limited (headquartered in Bat Xat district) to provide food for boarding meals.
However, some parents said that the distance to transport food from the above unit to the school is far, so the quality of the food will not be guaranteed, and at the same time, the supplier's price is higher than the market price. Therefore, parents asked the school to choose a food supplier in Bao Yen district.
