According to the draft, the entry threshold for teacher training and health-related majors with a practice certificate must have academic results in all three levels of high school ranked Good or higher or a high school graduation score of 8.0 or higher.
For the following majors: Physical Education, Music Pedagogy, Fine Arts Pedagogy; Preschool Education at college level; Nursing, Preventive Medicine, Midwifery, Dental Prosthetics, Medical Testing, Medical Imaging, and Rehabilitation, the academic results for all 3 years of high school must be ranked Good or higher, or the high school graduation score must be 6.5 or higher.
In addition, the Ministry divides candidates for teacher training and health care into two groups. The academic record requirement only applies to the group that does not consider high school graduation exam scores. For the group that considers graduation exam scores, the Ministry will announce the floor score annually. The draft no longer divides the floor score according to the admission method.
Teacher training and health are two special fields. To improve the quality of input, for many years, the Ministry of Education and Training has set the minimum scores for these two groups of fields and announced them around mid-July.
In 2023 and 2024, the minimum admission score for teacher training and health care will remain stable. Specifically, the admission threshold for teacher training based on high school graduation exam results is 18 - 19 points for a combination of 3 subjects. For preschool education at college level, it is 17 points. This level includes priority points.
11 majors in the health group have a minimum floor score of 19 - 22.5, the highest being Medicine and Dentistry.
In the draft, the Ministry of Education and Training stipulates: training institutions can organize early admissions in an appropriate manner to select candidates with outstanding abilities and academic achievements. The early admission quota is determined by the training institution but must not exceed 20% of the quota for each major or group of majors; ensuring that the admission score for early admissions is not lower than the admission score for the general planned admission round.
